A dark, twisty adventure about the forgotten among us and
what it means to be seen, from the acclaimed author of The Missing Piece of
Charlie O’Reilly
.

Cooper is lost. Ever since his father left their family
three years ago, he has become distant from his friends, constantly annoyed by
his little sister, Jess, and completely fed up with the pale, creepy rich girl
who moved in next door and won’t stop staring at him. So when Cooper learns of
an unsolved mystery his sister has discovered online, he welcomes the
distraction.

It’s the tale of a deadly train crash that occurred a
hundred years ago, in which one young boy among the dead was never identified.
The only distinguishing mark on him was a strange insignia on his suit coat, a
symbol no one had seen before or since. Jess is fascinated by the mystery of
the unknown child— because she’s seen the insignia. It’s the symbol of the
jacket of the girl next door.

As they uncover more information— and mounting evidence of
the girl’s seemingly impossible connection to the tragedy—Cooper and Jess
begin to wonder if a similar disaster could be heading to their hometown.

I agree completely with one of the other reviewers. It is a really good plot and has some fun aspects. However, it is written very juvenile. I don’t mean to say that it’s not well written, but that it is geared for a younger audience. I would definitely let my 8 to 14-year-old listen to this without hesitation. However, the style of writing with the detail used made it difficult for me to stay engaged. Would definitely recommend for younger audience, but maybe not for your average adult.

Good but more children’s story

I liked how the reader read in different voices so I could know it was a girl or boy speaking. I loved the story so much and I love reading mysterys. This helped me read the book faster so I could finish a book report I had to do for school.

I loved tis book so much

So I loved the idea of the plot, but was not aware of how young this characters would be. If I had children ages 5-13, I would definitely let them listen to this book. That is the perfect audience for this book. It is not something just a fan of the YA genre could really get into. It should be labeled children’s book. If it is, I missed it.

Just too juvenile. Perfect for ages 5-13
