Resumen del Editor

A young woman accepts a position as nanny to the young daughter of a handsome, wealthy, and mysterious Chinese businessman - only to discover her new employer is really a god...and every foul demon in creation is out to destroy him! With a premise like that, fantasy aficionados and die-hard action lovers alike will no doubt be expecting something exceptional - and Australian author Kylie Chan delivers big time.

White Tiger is the first book in Chan's breathtaking trilogy that ingeniously blends magic, martial arts, and urban fantasy with a healthy dollop of paranormal romance thrown in to sweeten the pot. Amazing intro to a great series

I love this book. I’ve read the first 6 in this 9 book series a long time ago before the 7th was being written. Coming back I knew I needed to start over. No problem. Decided to give audio books a try with this one. I’ve always thought my ADD would make it impossible to sit through, but I was so wrong. So easy to sit and just listen for a few hours at a time. I know Cindy Kay is the reason. She kept me engaged with the story and entertained. I’m sure my opinion on audio books rested on my first experience with them. I’m so glad it was Cindy Kay.

Modern Journey to the West

I’ve read this entire series. This reminds me of a modern journey to the west. That would probably be the only book that could be #1 to beat this series for the #1 spot. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Whispering narration is not an ideal experience

Put me to sleep by getting quieter during action scenes. Not great writing, but good story idea.

I love this story to death!

I didnt want to finish it because I knew that the second book is not out yet and I love the series. Emma is awesome in her acceptance of John and his life. Little Simone is a beautifully written child. Cant wait for the next book!!!

Thank you, Kylie Chan for bringing it to the states because I've been waiting for it forever!

Why no Australian accent?

I was really glad to see this story get put on audible, I get really bad migraines from reading to, the point that they make me rather sick. So i was disappointed when i came here a couple years ago hoping to listen and couldn't find it. I'm as happy as a Tiger in an all you can eat brothel now though, can't wait to get all of the books that go with this series.
Now, my only sorta complaint is that the main character who is an Australian native has no accent, Not when she is doing the narration or even when she is speaking. even though there is a part where people have commented on her accent or when she goes to her families house and they all have accents, it just seemed kind of weird to me. though i will admit i did really like the narrator's voice over all.
As for the story, it is as great as i thought it would be. there are a few unnecessary repetitive parts. There was a few times when i thought a character already knew something only for it to come as some sort of surprise to them later. Which kind of caught me off guard a couple of times. other than that i had a great deal of fun listening to this story and am extremely hopeful that i won't have to wait too long til the next book.

Overly long with not much happening

I really liked the premise of this book, but in execution, it was disappointing.
There was so much repetition!
1. Emma is remarkable and special.
2. She & John can't touch because he would drain her and kill her.
3. John's so drained and lacks strength and needs to rest.
4. John and Leo are constantly keeping things from her, vow to tell her everything, and then, oops, they did it again. And Emma gets angry all over again.

That's the gist of the book. I will not be finishing the series.

Plus, by the end, Simone, John's daughter, annoyed me. Her repetitions were everyone's silly or stupid.

Regarding the narrator, she is excellent! I forgot the same person was voicing each character. They are distinct and easily recognizable. Her pacing was just right and her portrayal of emotion was good.
