Good story. Glad I didn’t give up on it, but sure not to start any other books that forewarn that they are narrated by virtual voice. I really thought it wouldn’t matter, but it definitely did. Don’t do it. Read the book or make another selection. This one will disappoint you.

Would have never downloaded this if I had know it was AI generated narration! It was awful.

The surprise ending

The plot was engaging all the way through. There were satisfying twists and turns and suspense

The words are not always translated properly with AI narrations. I think there needs to be a lot of improvement before I can say that I like this type of narration.

Dull writing and unnatural narration

The story itself wasn’t terrible, but it lacked the spark that great writers have. And I had my doubts about virtual voice- it was a bit better than expected, but AI wasn’t able to use the correct inflection, cadence snd pronunciation in many places. It also often read “dot” where a period or sometimes a comma would have been, tacking it onto a phrase in a strange way.

Frustrating

Computer generate voice takes away the anjoyment of the book. If the spelling of a word can be pronounced two different ways and the voice says it incorrectly it is distracting since the meanings are completely differnet. Also it doesn't have the same emotion you have from a human reading and there is no change in the voice. Sometimes it was confusing whena male and female are talking to determine who said what so it is distracting from the story. Also the book kept stalling every couple of chapters where it just wouldn't play so I had to jump forward and miss out on some content get it going again. I think the story is probably going to be very good but I don't want to spend anymore time on trying to get to the end with this one.

Character Arc development

I enjoyed how the evidence of the rape was non existent due to error or other helping factors tied to the Supreme Court.
