As the trial unfolds, Ingrid realizes quickly that she has taken on more than she bargained for, including Opal’s dark past, a corrupt judge, a blackmailing prosecutor, another dead body, and a black tinted car that follows her everywhere. In the end, it’s clear that both women know more than they are letting on about Peter’s death, but who will tell the truth first?

And is the truth what anyone really wants to hear?

In Her Defense is a Great Series Kickstart!

Amy Impellizzeri was a new author for me. I started & blew through In Her Defense. If you are looking for a new author to add to your repertoire, I highly recommend her! Looking forward to more from this new series.

Unusual story line

This was a great read Wasn’t sure at the beginning but I actually enjoyed the book All the twists and turns were great. Reader was also enjoyable.

A Bit Long - Lousy Narration

The story was improbable, but hey, it's fiction. The Narrator was OK when telling the story but was terrible attempting other characters. Most were screeching sounds like fingernails on a blackboard.

It dragged in spots and was too long. Not enough meat on the bone for the length.

This was a good story

I will read more from this author it wasn’t the same old book. I will read more from this author.

solid believable plot with realistic characters

This was a pleasant surprise. An author I didn't know and the details undersold the book. Hardly a Grisham novel, but an enjoyable legal read with an ending that was a little surprising. The ending was not exactly earth shatteringly shocking, but not totally expected either. Author did a good job of developing the characters and the plot lines. The stories made sense and I enjoyed getting to know the characters. It was an overall nice read. Maybe nothing jaw-dropping or totally out of left field, but author and narrator kept me interested, kept things believable and realistic enough to keep me listening till the end. Well done!
