I love the cliff hangers

I know. "I love the cliff hangers" is a crazy thing to say for the title of my review, right? The way these books are written is cool. They hit you with the cliff hanger, but it's not open to interpretation. For example, the last one said " Adrian has been shot". Then, you start this book and you know through the entire story that it's going to happen. Because I didn't have context, it kept me on pins and needles the whole time. This way of story telling is new to me and I like it. I now know what happens in the next book and I can't wait to see it unfold! lol I'm telling you , this writer is changing how I see cliff hangers.

Dark Mafia Romance

Vicious Protector by Maggie Cole is a dark mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Kelsey Navarro and Tim Paige. This is the fourth book in the Mafia Wars series. The book can be read as a standalone but the stories are interconnected.

I absolutely love Maggie's books! She does an amazing job pulling me into the story. I loved the relationship between Skylar and Adrian. The chemistry between them was off the charts. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Savage Tracker to be released on August 1, 2021 so I can get Obrecht and Selena's story.

Kelsey and Tim did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you love mafia romances, dark romances, or romantic suspense.

Excellent Story & Listen 🎧 Riveting & Emotional!

Maggie Cole continues to wow me with another awesome “Mafia Wars” novel, I am loving this series, the Ivanov’s and interesting world she created, it is complex, dark and intense. This book fourth book is Adrian Ivanov and Skylar Scott’s story, each book in this series can be enjoyed on it’s own, I recommend every book and IMO, I think following the Ivanov’s story from the start of the series is best because you’ll know more of their back story and more about the all the characters and players in the series. Basically it is good to know info, gives you more insight and depth. It was great to learn more about Adrian, he is an over protective alpha with a hot temper and a past that made him that way. The chemistry between Adrian and Skylar is undeniable and smoking hot but is it enough. She senses he is holding things back and has trust issues, questioning everything he does. He is afraid to show her who he really is so he shelters her and keeps her in the dark. I was rooting for these two to work it out, but they needed to trust each other, Adrian needed to let go of his insecurities and trust Skylar would love him for who he is regardless of his past or what he does for a living. She needed to just trust him, I get being left in the dark sucks but it is not always about being unfaithful. Like all the other books in this series, the story is well written and cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, mystery, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and some hot romance. Maggie Cole, thank you for another enjoyable and entertaining story, the witty dialogue was amazing. I am looking forward to what happens next in Obrecht and Selena’s story.

🎧📚🎧 Kelsey Navarro and Tim Paige are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They are fabulously talented narrators and voice artists, they gave each character their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. They had a complete understanding of each character they portrayed and took the role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I pictured the to sound. Tim Paige played Adrian’s role with perfection, accent and all. Kelsey Navarro Skylar was spot on, she grasped her persona to a tee. Both were awesome performing the roles of the secondary characters as well, accents and all. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all of the characters emotions as well as their passion which could be heard in their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen.

Amazing Narrators!

Listening to the audible their voices pulled me in from the very beginning! Adrian and Skylar are hot and their story is one you won't want to miss!

Tim Page and Kelsey Navarro are fire!

THEY JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER

This series is becoming my guilty addiction and I’m loving the characters, the romances, the tangled webs and the interconnecting storylines that run on from one to the other. Adrian and Skylar’s tortured love story was fraught with emotional conflict because Adrian had been emotionally damaged by his first wife and was determined not to make the same mistake again with Skylar. So he withholds his truths from her.. but the more he does the more Skylar begs for answers.. until her final ultimatum is met with silence. Having Adrian’s ex returning after all these years stirs jealous thoughts too and adds fuel to a relationship that’s already going up in flames. The woman is poison and the tsunami she causes will leave devastation in its wake.

Worth a credit? Yes, it’s an addictive and compelling addition to the multi-layered Mafia Wars series and, as the dual POV storyline slowly spills its secrets, it’s tangled web and its villains and heroes, love does eventually conquer all. Great narration brought to life the sizzles and stream, the challenges and conflicts, the swoony romance, the anguish, drama and action and the full cast of characters that make up this dangerous (but drool-worthy and delicious) world that Maggie Cole has skilfully built. Each one can be a standalone.

Good read

I’m in love with this series so far…Skyler wines a little to much for my liking…but the story line is great overall…highly recommended this book series…if you never read this series before…I would recommend reading book 2 first then loop back to book 1

Dangerously Fierce

"Mafia Wars" Series just keeps getting better and better. This highly addictive listen is captivating. Skylar and Adrian's journey is full of passion, twists and turns. Vicious Protector is a roller coaster of intense and raw emotions, danger, revenge, passion, love and suspense.

The narration for this book was awesome. Narrators Kelsey Navarro, Tim Paige put a lot of heart and steamy sexiness into their performance. Well done!!
