𝗜 absolutely devoured this audiobook in no time at all! I was so hooked that I couldn't bring myself to hit pause. 𝗡𝘆𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗿𝘆𝗻 truly knows how to spin a romantic suspense plot, and after experiencing this for the first time, I can proudly say I am now a fan of her work. I want more!

𝗧𝗵𝗲 story follows Addie, who works at the Wilderness Adventure Park, and Noah, her handsome older boss who is holding back. Noah, an ex-Marine dealing with PTSD and his mental health, is determined not to harm someone like Addie. Despite the challenges they face, the tension between them is electric. Addie is a straightforward person who goes after what she wants - which happens to be Noah. But as threats loom and danger approaches, secrets are unraveled, leading to unexpected twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat!

𝗧𝗵𝗲 cherry on top was the duet narration by 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 and 𝗟𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗲𝗹𝘀. Their delivery truly brought the characters to life, giving the story even more depth and emotion. If you're a fan of romantic suspense and age gap romance, do not hesitate to pick up this audiobook!

NOAH and ADDIE

Even though book 4, Unbroken (Colt and Indie's story) is still my favorite of this series, Unchained is so close behind it you almost can't tell them apart! Nyssa's writing has so much depth, character development, world building, and twists...together it all puts her in my top three favorite authors, and I NEVER miss out on acquiring her books!

This is Noah (Indie's brother) and Addie's story. I connected with Addison because she is so much like I was at her age. When you're raised by older, very settled parents, you are often mature and wise beyond your years. Noah is disturbed by their 13-year age difference, but Addie isn't fazed at all.

Noah is a former Marine who has come home with a horrendous case of PTSD and survivor's guilt. I won't spoil the rest of his story, but Addie is his perfect complement and brave and mature enough to handle his mental issues.

Of course, Addie acquires a threat to her life and Noah is there to protect her. The cast of potential suspects is rather large and there is also a major surprise near the end. I won't spoil the story, but don't miss this awesome addition to the Amber Ridge series!

Avery Caris and Lee Samuels were terrific choices to narrate this book. Avery perfectly voices the younger Addie and at the same time demonstrates her wisdom. Lee's deeper voice is perfect for the older Noah and expresses so well Noah's struggles with survivor's guilt.

What a great romantic and suspenseful audiobook!

What a great romantic and suspenseful audiobook! I loved the way Nyssa Kathryn portrayed both leads.
Addie may be young, but she’s no naive damselalthough a bit clumsy and chocolate obsessed. She knows who she is and what she wants, and I adored how she helped Noah face his demons without ever faltering.
Noah’s strength and vulnerability kept me rooting for him and for them.
The age gap, the mystery, the tension, the spice, everything worked perfectly together.
And full disclosure, I haven’t read the rest of the series yet, but now I absolutely want to.

🎧The narration was on point. Avery Caris and Lee Samuels brought these characters to life so vividly. Avery was such a natural fit for Addie, her emotional delivery felt authentic and raw, while Lee captured Noah’s turmoil and heart beautifully. From tense moments to tender ones, they were a perfect duet. Bravo!

Noah is an ex marine dealing with PTSD and he is worried he will hurt Addie so he tries to stay away from her. The pull he feels with his attraction and feelings for her makes it difficult he also feels the deep need to protect her.

Addie is Noah’s employee at his new wilderness outdoor park. She has a huge crush on Noah. Addie is living on her own for the first time and feeling paranoid that someone is following her. But could it really be someone out to get her?

I enjoyed this book. The mystery and suspense was very captivating along with the development of Addie & Noah’s relationship.

Unchained is the total small town romance package! A cozy coffee shop? Check! Welcoming and supportive residents? Check! Opposites attract, workplace attraction, and close proximity? Triple check!

An age-gap with a retired Marine suffering from PTSD and a young 20-something determined to establish a life for herself away from her loving, and over protective, parents, this book also has a strong focus on mental health. I laughed, swooned so hard for Noah, and sifted through the clues to figure out the identity of the stalker determined to force Addison out of Amber Ridge. Yes, there were also tears shed. 🥺

The audiobook, performed in duet by Avery Caris and Lee Samuels, was absolute perfection! The emotions exuded in Avery Caris and Lee Samuels’ performances not only brought the characters to life, but made the steamy scenes next level. I’ve listened to 29 audiobooks in the last month, and I am blown away by Avery Caris and Lee Samuels. These two narrators are total standouts among the many talented performances I have experienced recently!

The plot, characters, secrets, suspense, and superb narration made Unchained one of my top ten audiobooks of 2025, so get this on your audiobook TRB! Or read it with your eyes, no judgement here!
