Disappointing story

This is the first dick Francis‘s story that I have not liked. It’s about two brothers who are so stupid they cause them selves and everybody else trouble and they have to take you along for the ride. The antagonist Angelo should’ve been killed at the very first and the story should’ve taken another direction.

To me, another great Dick Francis novel which did not disappoint. I've listened to it twice!

Interesting in two parts

When Part 2 was announced I was taken by surprise ... it all fit together, but the transition was strange. Great book, two narrators - Prebble not my favorite -- but seems like certain narrators keep coming back with every author, regardless.

Good story; slow paced narration

I enjoyed the story. I would’ve enjoyed it more if the narrator went at a faster pace. About 2/3 of the way through the book, I realized that I could control his pace through the Audible app. Once I adjusted it to my liking, I enjoyed the narration and the story.:-)

The narrator brought the story to life. I knew who was speaking.

I have never been to England but I could see the streets, homes, shops and race tracks.

Simon Prebble needs no assistance!

This book was going on just fine without the help from the second narrator. He was a complete bore. His monotone voice was painful to keep up with and I can't I understand why Simon Prebble wasnt allowed to finish the book as his brither, William. I finally had to skip to the last chapter just to find out how the book ended. Simon Prebble doesn't need any help with reading a novel!!!

Dick Frances never disappoints

An interesting read as the villain follows two brothers in different places and different times in their lives.

Such a great story!

Dick Francis is the master of great storytelling. All his novels have something to do with horses and racing. In most, like this one, the action takes place primarily in the lives of his fully-developed characters.
This story includes some details of the earliest of personal computing programming. It was fascinating to be reminded of that work, and the marvel of such simple programs, but as always, the complexity of Francis’s characters elevates it to the utmost.
Highly recommended.
