The First in a New Post Apoc Series!

Turbulent: A Post Apocalyptic EMP Survival Thriller (Days of Want Series, Book 1) written by T. L. Payne. The narration is provided by Kevin Pierce the voice of the apocalypse. This is a new series about a family that is separated on the day of a coordinated attack that cripples that nation. The main character Maddie is in the Chicago airport when the EMP and the cyber-attack destroy the nations power grid. Her Mother and Younger Brother are also both away from their home in St. Louis. They all were trained by their deceased father how to survive, escape, and evade if the SHTF. The story is enjoyable yet makes you want to yell at all the characters at times for their choices. A hallmark of a good story in this genre. I definitely recommend this series if this is something you enjoy.
 
The narration is provided by Kevin Pierce the voice of the apocalypse. Mr. Pierce keeps the listener engaged during the entire performance. His voice is just soothing perfection to the ears as he reads the words of apocalypse from the author. The production quality of this audiobook is also of the highest quality. I heard no problems during the entire performance. There were not any detectable flaws that I was able to hear during the entire performance such as loops, breaks, or buzzing. The production was crisp and clear. Shaky Rock Publishing delivered an excellent audiobook production. Excellent story line.

I loved the characters. Very believable especially in light of everything happening in the world. I could do without the swear words; but that’s a personal opinion. I will be reading the next book immediately. Thanks

Very good lead-in to a series

This first book of T. L. Payne’s Days of Want series is a very good lead-in to the series. If the action and intrigue stay at this level this series is a must read for Dystopian/post-apocalyptical thriller fans. The character development, inclusion of very plausible sceneries, and the addition of what many might consider common conspiracy theories regarding FEMA are what make this story worth the time to read.

Pretty Solid EMP Crisis Book

Lots of interesting characters making their way back home or to safety keep this book moving. The bad guys are bad, the good ones vary between morally ambiguous and overall good which is pretty much the way it would be.
Family is important and the characters fight for their family above all else.
I'm looking forward to the sequel.
Kevin Pierce does a great job of narration and delivers again!

Realistic view

Maddie and Zach are siblings Mike's apart from each other when the unthinkable happens , thankfully their father taught them how to survive if a event like this tool place , they will need it to survive ,in the aftermath of the Apocalypse

Loved it!

I loved everything about this book! For a tired genre, I thought this story was unique and interesting. Loved the characters. I could listen to that narrator read anything. He did a fantastic job! I received a free copy for review.

This narrator is one of my favorites and always adds so much depth to what he reads. This book had a lot of ups and downs, keeping your interest easily. I can't wait to see what happens to this family!

Been a long time....

Since a “SHTF” kept me on the edge of my seat.... Being my favorite genre, I’m extremely picky and will shut it down quick if it doesn’t hold my interest..
That being said, this one DID... I highly recommend. Both the performance and storyline were A1!! Already listening to book 2.... Thanks T.L. Payne!!! Ok

Solid story, but very violent

Solid story, you won't be disappointed. Narration is good. The pacing is great, although I would like a little more slow spots to learn more about the characters and see them develop their relationships to each other more. I am not sure if a crisis like this would lead to the extent of violence portrayed in this book, but either way, I would prefer less in a story I am reading. Regardless, I'll want to listen to the next in the series.
