Robotic performance!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend and will purchase the hardcopy as a great reference and case study product. The narration was just horrible. A wonderful and well-written text with a robot reader. Why would Audible subject their audience to this one--youck!

If you’ve listened to books by Avinash K. Dixit before, how does this one compare?

Not applicable.

How could the performance have been better?

Are you kidding? This performance can go nowhere but up. Terrible!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No.

Any additional comments?

This is a book that I found very interesting. The quantitative decision making process is one of my favorite process tostudy and theorize upon. Great illustrations. But buy the book, the narrator is like a robot. Sorry robots!

Dominating read

A good layman's review of game theory including topics such as the prisoners dilemma and other strategies to negotiate for optimal outcomes. Key theory was put yourself in the other person's shoes and look ahead to know where they want to end up and the plan back to drive for your optional outcome.

Don't buy as and audible book

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Not a good choice if you are going to listen to it as opposed to read it.

Good content best suited for printed book Not Audio

This book has good content. It touches on a number of mathematical theories and illustrates their application with examples. This is essentially the content of the book and helps you to organize your thoughts objectively when assessing scenarios.
I do not recommend it as an audiobook, however. There are references made to graphical examples aligned with explanations that I'd guess are available on printed or soft version (non audio) version of the book itself. This makes it difficult to follow at times.
Good option to read & perhaps combined with audio to compliment it.

kind of ok for example of strategic thinking

Good enough for the case study but not inspiring. would have been more interesting with more methodology explained.

Game Theory

The author takes a narrow view of strategy. Although game theory is useful in understanding how a competitor may maneuver and this can be used to determine how best you can position yourself in anticipation or in reaction to an opponent's move, I'd argue this book is more about tactics than strategy.

Diagram dependant, monotone narrator, still good

What made the experience of listening to Thinking Strategically the most enjoyable?

The content. There were dozens of casestudies that made it useful.

Would you be willing to try another one of Mark Delgado’s performances?

No. His performance was montone and dull at best.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. It required some digesting

Any additional comments?

Although I wished I had a copy of the actual book to see the diagrams and charts, it was still a good book and I'm glad I listened to it.

order physical book as well

Best thing would be to additionally order physical copy for data and graph charts to follow theory.

Awful narrator.

The topic is interesting, but the narrator makes it difficult to follow. He reads way too fast and very monotonously.
