The Most Content in the Fewest Words

Ron Turner can put more meaningful content into fewer words than any other writer I have read.

His poetry is free-verse, meaning it doesn't rhyme, but you'll never notice, because you'll be so caught up in thinking about what he said.

My only disappointment in this book was that there wasn't enough pause in between each ... chapter? Poem? Verse? ... to be able to think in depth about what he'd just said, and think about how it applies to us.

You should listen to this book, but take my advice: (1) Don't be doing anything else when you listen; and (2) Listen with your finger on the pause button so you can stop the playback after each poem and think about it.

Aging and Sageing

Ron gives the listener small observations and anecdotes that add up to a whole much greater than it’s parts. He speaks about his experience as a father, a grandfather, a boomer, a seeker, a prison chaplain, a man in love. At one point he uses the image of a quilt...something built square by square. And this is a thought provoking journey that he invites us to join in contemplation...story by story. Listening to Ron is rich and rewarding. His humor and wisdom is something I will carry with me a long time. I highly recommend.

Ron Turner pegs it!

This book has a great combination of humor and truth in four broad categories. At first, I was frustrated because of how quickly topics changed... I hadn’t finished contemplating or enjoying the reading before the subject changed, and I was into another. Then I discovered I could stop the reading and choose when to go on (In my defense, this is my first experience with “Audible”). I quickly found my way of thinking related to the author because I too am a young elder. Sometimes I would laugh out loud; sometimes I shared it with a loved one because the reading was a great reminder of something personal that I wished to talk about more; and other times it triggered an enjoyable journey down memory lane, leading me into several rabbit trails before I would be ready to go on. This book isn’t just words, it’s multiple experiences that I can take as far as I want. Ron reads at an enjoyable pace.... not too fast or slow, with just enough inflection to keep it interesting. Most enjoyable!!
