A Classic is Finally on Audible

I started the romance genre with this book and like many fans have re read this classic over the decades since 1974 when it was first published. Fans have waited 9 mos for this release. The sample IS THE FORWARD of the book, thank goodness, so new readers will get a full understanding of this First Lady author who started so many women on the road to great romance writing. The publisher was so smart to give us this forward, it is 10 mins long and wonderful, as it reminds even us readers of the romance classics what we have long forgotten over the many years awaiting this wonderful novel of it’s times. The narrator is a classic in her own way for this type of writing, not my personal top favorite but the publisher took no chances with the choice as she is a professional so fans could not criticize. I personally purchased a few books she narrated to make sure I would like this recording. I was not disappointed!! Now if we can only get the great Judith McNaught novels on full unabridged Audible?

A story for all time

Kathleen became my go to author for romance 50 years ago. Like fine wine her tales age well. I have waited a long time for the audible to finally publish this and her books. AUDIBLE did not disappoint. Now I must get on to my 2nd favorite of her books.

Then and Now

I loved it when I was in my 20’s and love it now in my 70’s. I’ve read it many, many times and now I’ve listened to it. Wonderful romance book, however, the Forward was not necessary. There is no need to explain the obvious.

i love the narrator. story was a nice romance with a few twists. passion without explicit love scenes.

One of my Favorites

I read it in my early 20s, I loved it then..I couldn't wait for it to come on here... I was kinda Mad, how they had to talk about how long ago she had wrote it, how people can be upset, over abuse of women, and how young they could be..But it Was FACT women had NO rights, we were below a Cow,,Husband's could beat their wives, etc..Instead of being upset, learn your history, in the 60 and 70s husband could hve their wives put in a crazy house for almost any reason, at least our woman here had a back bone...

Loved it!

I read this in high school. It was so great to listen to it! I loved it then and I love it now! I pre-ordered all of the Woodiwiss books when I learned they were being released as audiobooks! Now, on to the next, but deciding which one will be so hard!!

My all time favorite romance novel, for many, many, years!!

I love the iron strong, but honorable and just Wildcat. Who tries as hard as he can to deny that a decent, honorable, trustworthy and beautiful woman exists. He is happily proven wrong in the end. Wonderful characters and intricate plot twists along the way to keep you hooked until the very end. Just the best romance, ever.

Loved the fairly accurate history!

Great character development. Read this book in 1975, and I truly enjoyed it through Audible.
