Some things are just meant to be done by humans. The only reason I listened to the whole story was because the story was interesting, but the voice really took from the story. It would have been much better with the correct inflections

Good story, virtual voice was the worse

Virtual voice sucks but I thought the story was great. A lot of unexpected twist.

Great story

I liked the idea and it was free so WTH you know. So there were parts of the story that were great and others not so much. For free it was great EXCEPT, and I’m sure monetarily it was better but, VIRTUAL NARRATORS ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!! “Abel L.E.D. the kid into the shelter” is just one of a couple hundred mispronunciations and incorrect inflections. Ruined a decent story. Just my opinion.

It was an original idea for sure.

I feel like the story has some real potential, but I gotta tell you, Virtual Voice is a death sentence. No inflection, no life, no difference between characters, just a robot reading the script. Apparently reviewing the reading is not part of the Virtual Voice experience either. Just the worst overall listening experience and the story really does have promise. Maybe a human will read it someday and bring it to life. One positive note, I now know to avoid Virtual Voice audio books in the future!

Virtual Voice kills this title.

Sal dying in the end. But to be real it can’t always have a completely happy ending.

The realism

Overall a D-

I liked that it was free. Possibly 2 reasons for that, to get more reviews and because it’s hard to think of a price much above free that wouldn’t leave you feeling tricked out of your money for a substandard product.

That said, This virtual reader is definitely better than the audible title I listened to a while back that was very annoying because the pacing was all wrong and frequent mispronunciations. Possibly in time it will be competitive. For example, when there is a word that could be pronounced 2 different ways like ‘tear’ which has the same spelling without regard to if it’s what happens when a person cries or what happens when you rip something.

Intonation and general delivery is too monotone.

As long as virtual reader books are free, they might make the monthly subscription worth it, but only if they get better.

The monotony of the virtual reader

I have to say it is one of the few books I've read that wasn't pro-christian that didn't absolutely demonize them and the book is exceedingly realistic of what this kind of scenario would actually look like which makes it incredibly incredibly depressing no Heroes no happy ending if you want to know what the actual apocalypse would look like or even just an extreme all out War and the desolation of the aftermath of it this will give you a good picture

one of the most depressing books I've ever read

He doesn't get revenge? Really? The main character turns out to be quite the wimp. Disappointing ending. Overall not bad.
