Confusing at first

Overall good story, but on Audible it’s very confusing. So many characters introduced and a lot of jumping of time, so just pay attention

Kept me guessing and thought I had it figured out, but NOPE! I really like Charlie Donlea’s storytelling and can’t wait for the next Rory/Lane book!

This was soo good! I loved it! Always love his books! Such a great writer. Loved the performance and narration!

What a twist!

This is my first book by this author and I honestly had no idea what to think when I started the book but as it progressed I thought i knew only to find out I still didn’t have a clue!
This was a great listen, great story and narrator. I will be listening to more !

Compelling story

Sloppy research. Brain dead people don’t walk into a room. You can’t see the Blue Ridge Mountains from lake Norman. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.

the super twists!!

i was hard pressed to follow all the characters and who they are in the story.

What a ride!

Another great one by Charlie Donlea but almost ruined by the narrator. Vivienne Lehey has zero personality and makes listening boring and almost unbearable!

This is the second book in this series and we got to see more of both Rory and Lane. FMC Rory Moore is a very wonderfully unique character who excels at solving cold cases. She exhibits some tendencies that place her on the spectrum, but it is these exact tendencies that make her so good at what she does. Things such as her eidetic memory, her ability to connect relatively separate clues and facts and more importantly, her ability to completely immerse herself into the case with an almost crazy connection to the victims.

Then there is MMC Lane Phillips. He is a widely respected and successful psychologist who gained success while he was a behavioral analyst with the FBI's BAU. He specializes in getting into the minds of serial killers and is contacted to help with the case of the grisly slaughter of two students at Indiana’s elite Westmont Preparatory High School. The case was an open and shut case until it becomes the target of a couple of true crime podcasts. It just so happens that in addition to the murders; there have been three students in the past year who have come back to the scene of the crime and un-alived themselves.

Mr. Donlea has been my most recent find and I have devoured as many of his books as I could find. He has not disappointed me yet. Each case is always compelling yet full of twists and turns and this one is no different. It is told with alternating timelines and differing POV's - including some interesting journal entries.

As usual, there was a moment where I thought, "What?!" where something came at me completely out of left field. Something that I thought I KNEW, ended up being completely wrong. Man, I love it when that happens.

So, another winner from Mr. Donlea. I only wish there were more books for me to find.....

Very gripping. A real page turner and good till the end. Would listen to this author again.

Different

I must say I was a little confused in the beginning, but the book got going I couldn’t stop listening. A little different than story line and I liked that.
