So great to spend more time with these characters

A must listen for anyone who enjoyed the trilogy. It was so nice to get the extra time with these characters. It was a good mix of POVs and helped to both fill in the gaps between the three books and give a glimpse of the future.

Chakraborty Does It Again

The Daevabad Trilogy is my favorite series; I’ve read it three times. I enjoyed it in both ebook and audiobook, but this was the first time I experienced Chakraborty’s work through the audio version first. I was not disappointed. Soneela Nankani is an excellent narrator as usual. She brings every scene and every character to life.

This anthology was an absolute treasure! It was so interesting to see Daevabad from new perspectives as well as learning more about the usual suspects. I was completely enthralled. Every chapter was a gift, but my favorites were Manizeh and Duriya.

There were things I didn't even know I wanted that The River of Silver delivered. I’m not usually thrilled about prequels or anthologies, but this was a real treat.

Can 't Get Enough

I love these characters. I love the magic, the intrigue, the romance, the danger. I am 100% a fan of S.A. Chakraborty and the world of Daevabad. Soneela Nankani is just perfection and is the reason I listen to audio books at all. I started out with City of Brass as a book club read (listen) and she hooked me immediately. Of course, the writing is stellar and the characters are all so complex. Everyone is flawed but striving to do better and I think that's one of the most beautiful parts of Chakraborty's writing.
Fan for life.

LOVE THIS SERIES 💝 A Must Read!

The description of the settings of the stories are so vivid you can see it in your mind's eye, the characters are excellent and the storyline sucks you in...I highly recommend this series and SO HOPE to have more to come 💖

This author brings all of her books to life. Each ending I am definitely wanting more about each characters story, and how they weave through their natural magical realm.

A wonderful postscript and accessory

To a beautiful trilogy. Back story and next steps for Zaynab, Dara, and of course Nahri and Ali were sometimes hard to hear/read, but still, very beautiful.

Good for The Devabad Trilogy Fans

This is more like a collection of short sides stories to story / plot lines throughout the Devabad Trilogy. As well as alternate versions to epilogues and prologues already given. So, buckle up, as it’s kinda like being tossed backwards, forwards, sideways, and into alternate and occasionally seemingly random story / plot lines in time. It might be challenging to enjoyably listen to / read this book without having read the trilogy.

Only part I didn’t appreciate, strictly from a team Dara’s love life perspective (ha!), was the closing section and could absolutely get the author’s apprehension, in Nahri’s voice, in sharing it because of fan reactions like mine, lol! (It’s gotta be tough making such a significant alternative, even though it was always there throughout, and sharing what fans might be opposed to; and it’s also brave. So, kudos to S. Chakrabotry for putting both her and Nahri’s heart gently and bravely on the line; even while this listener-reader mentally resists it; bravo.)

Make sure you make it through the trilogy to fully immerse yourself in this.

Oh! And is there “The Adventures of Zeinab” in the works and will paths be crossed with Amina Al-Sirafi…? It would be an excellent crossover!

Hoping for even more tales of this magical realm

This is a marvelous follow on to her trilogy. I hope she does more. Read city of brass first to be introduced to the world of the jinn. I love all the characters.

Nice addition

This was an enjoyable addition to the series. I wasn’t sure at first if I’d like it, since it was an extension style book but I did. It was worth it. I’d forgotten how much I loved the characters and the magic. It was like revisiting friends that you’d forgotten how much you liked hanging out with them.
