Truly enjoyed reading this novel. Got it in a sale price … once I got used to the narrator voice I was able to relax.

One of Rudnick’s best

Rudnick is one of the few novelists left who still practices the nearly lost art of the laugh-out-loud comic novel. But he also knows how to your heart. Love is the encompassing theme of this one, as demonstrated by an eclectic group of troubled souls who all unite in Chekhovian circumstances for a wedding of an island on the coast of Maine. This is smashingly well written, and very nicely read by the narrator, who is able to capture each character with distinct humor.

Great story

Loved the writing and the story! Smart, funny & sweet. I did not love the narrator in the audiobook but the story was so compelling I got over her. 😉

Humor

Unexpected story. Laugh out loud scenes. It was an unusual story. Sometimes the. Aerator sounded like AI, but basically very good.

A rollicking ride through messy human love

I loved everything about this book, it’s one of the funniest books I’ve read in forever. The story is fast paced, packed with dry wit, messy characters and slapstick. Erin Mallon’s narration was so good, if I was reading instead of listening it would probably be the narration created in my head. The characters are a hot mess, probably because they’re human. I loved almost all of them, except the jerks.

This book is so full of woke BS, After thirty minutes of suffering, I could not finish it!

maybe if I stuck with it I could find a plot but just a bunch of cliche stereotyped characters. Their sexual orientation was the dominating trait of their character. boring and annoying
