Resumen del Editor

Witness the rise of a phoenix, or at least the world’s worst gamer, learning to make use of his stat page.

The Altrian town of Roselake suffers from a vanishing villager problem that has gone largely ignored. But now that the guards are going missing and all forms of communication from within the game are blocked, it's time for the Governess to intervene. She'd prefer with someone she won't miss.

Caught illegally crossing the border, Ryland and Co have been "politely ordered" to investigate. However, with this ragtag group of misfits involved, nothing can go smoothly. Eldertits threatens to blow their cover, and half the town along with it; Rondo is desperate to foster a relationship with the clergy, despite being past puberty; Elaria must resist shoving something hard and pointy into everyone's favorite elf; and Ryland faces his greatest challenge yet: achieving a basic level of competence.

Will they succeed? Probably not.

Good, Easy Read!

I really liked the storyline on this one. It was an improvement from the first book and has some twists you don't see coming. While Eldertits is still annoyingly vulgar, she has her place... Definitely a nice easy read and something different from what I normally pick up.

Trolls and homophobes

To start on a positive note, I think that the narrator does a good job with characters, providing a different personality to each of them which is of course all I can ask for in a narrator.

That said, two of the main characters have driven me away from this author. First, carrying over from the first book, is an oversexed online troll. The character gets the others in trouble repeatedly and even after admitting her mistake, she doesn't grow and just keeps on being her trolly self.

The second character encounters a pair of gay characters and proceeds to repeatedly drop f**gy and *fa**ot for about 5 minutes. While the other characters disagree with his actions, they really don't do anything to change his mind. Assuming that his character is anything like the other one, there will be no growth and he will continue to behave in the same manner.

If I wanted to encounter people that behave like this, I could easily go to 4Chan. As a gamer and a gay man, I can not support an author who finds these characters to be good people.
