Resumen del Editor
From the creator of the MIND diet and author of Diet for the MIND, the definitive guide to eating for optimum cognitive health, weight loss, and longevity
Dr. Martha Clare Morris’s MIND diet took the nutrition world by storm when it revealed the link between diet and cognitive health, particularly as we age. Lauded by scientists, doctors, and organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association, AARP, and US News & World Report, the MIND diet, which combines elements of the Mediterranean and DASH diets, offers hope for an easy, non-invasive, and effective way to lose weight, prevent cognitive decline, reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, and promote vibrant brain health well into advanced age.
The Official MIND Diet is a practical, day-by-day guide to improving your brain health for life by adjusting what you eat. You’ll learn:
- What foods to eat and limit to protect your brain from cognitive decline.
- How to seamlessly incorporate these foods into your routine.
- How to effectively stay on track and maintain your health and nutrition needs.
With more than sixty mouthwatering recipes for every meal of the day and fascinating, easy-to-understand science, The Official MIND Diet is your road map to weight loss, vitality, and a lifetime of delicious eating and optimal cognitive function.
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.
Reseñas de la Crítica
"Dr. Martha Clare Morris was a brilliant researcher and friend who pioneered research on diet and prevention of dementia. Despite her untimely death, her daughter, Laura Morris, and colleague, Jennifer Ventrelle, have made the solid science behind her legacy, the MIND Diet, available to all readers. The Official MIND Diet offers a double reward: delicious and satisfying meals today and a sharper mind tomorrow."—Walter Willett, MD, DrPH, author of Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy

Historia
In this paradigm shifting book, Dale Bredesen, MD, offers real hope to anyone looking to prevent and even reverse Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline. Revealing that AD is not one condition, as it is currently treated, but three, The End of Alzheimer's outlines 36 metabolic factors (micronutrients, hormone levels, sleep) that can trigger "downsizing" in the brain. The protocol shows us how to rebalance these factors using lifestyle modifications like taking B12, eliminating gluten, or improving oral hygiene.

Growing older is a blessing. But the slow decline and the loss of functionality associated with aging has led us to treat the process like a disease. These negative effects of aging, however, are not inevitable. Rather, they’re largely the result of environmental and lifestyle factors that, when properly addressed, can be reversed through a process called Autojuvenation™.

Historia
In this myth-busting book, Daniel Lieberman, professor of human evolutionary biology at Harvard University and a pioneering researcher on the evolution of human physical activity, tells the story of how we never evolved to exercise - to do voluntary physical activity for the sake of health. Using his own research and experiences throughout the world, Lieberman recounts without jargon how and why humans evolved to walk, run, dig, and do other necessary and rewarding physical activities while avoiding needless exertion.

Our ability to prevent and reverse these conditions—and feel incredible today—is under our control and simpler than we think. The key is our metabolic function—the most important and least understood factor in our overall health. As Dr. Casey Means explains in this book, nearly every health problem we face can be explained by how well the cells in our body create and use energy. To live free from frustrating symptoms and life-threatening disease, we need our cells to be optimally powered so that they can create “good energy,” the essential fuel that impacts every aspect of our wellbeing.

Terrible narration, too much history
I guess what I needed is the cookbook, not the history and the fawning tales of how smart her mother was. What really made this book difficult to me, the narrator sounded like either she was 8 years old or she thought I was 8 years old. Save me from women with little girl voices.
