Wow! Just Wow!

I think I must be getting old because I found that starting this book after just finishing another genre, I thought, 'hmmm, am I going to like this? I really like the other genre book.' That was about the first 5 pages. By page 10, I was thinking, 'hmmm, this isn't so bad!'. By the time I hit chapter 2, I couldn't put it down. Totally hooked, captivated, involved, and didn't want to stop listening. (In fact, I listened during meal prep and the meals) By the end, I was grieving that it was over. It was absolutely terrific! Thank you, Michael, for another wonderful book. I am a fan for life!

Scott Brick, to me, is the best narrator out there! He makes every book he narrates come alive. This one was no different! Again, I am a fan for life! Outstanding job, Scott!

Bite the bullet and listen to this great book. You won't regret it!

Another Great Book

'The Last Monument' was excellent. I enjoyed it tremendously. I found the story line very intriguing. it kept me interested to the very end. The ending was completely unexpected and exciting. Scott Brick always does a great job as narrator. I look for books he is narrating. Highly recommend this book.

Stopped rather than ended

Not sure if this was initially planned as a series, but I thought the ending was very rushed, completely unbelievable and ultimately unsatisfying.
The characters were mostly well thought out and believable, apart from the “baddies”, who were very one dimensional.
I’ve read all the breakthrough series and found them entertaining. This one just didn’t feel as well put together.

Engaging and Thought Provoking

Great story that kept me coming back every time I had a few minutes. The truths revealed toward the end are timeless.

A tad of SciFi and a dash of fantasy mixed in

JUST WOW. Let me start by saying I had this book in my wish list for quite some time. I ran out of my typical books: Reacher, Ryan, Dempsey, Bosch, Rapp, Longmire Pickett.... so I started The Last Monument. Not long into it Angela says The Monument Men! I exclaimed out loud THE MONUMENT MEN - WAIT did I hear correctly. I sure did. I love the movie The Monument Men, who I had never heard of despite being 67 years old. I remember after the movie I started researching the project. Now if The Monument Men had been in the description, I would have listened to this book right away.

Now don't get me wrong this is not another story about them but about one of them declared dead by the army decades ago. This is a suspenseful search by his grand-niece to get to the bottom of a mysterious letter proving he had indeed been alive and what 'treasure' he had found by following a trail to South America.

Add a little fantasy and then a dash of Sci Fi and this book does not disappoint.

The opposite personalities of Angela and Joe will have you laughing and shaking your head. And for me the end result was something I would travel to South America to experience

Scott Brick did a great job with all the characters. Now on to book 2 in the series!

Weird, Jumps Around

Started out interesting then went weird with new characters and seemingly new story line. I only finished hoping it would make sense.

An Adventure You Don't Want To Miss

What an entertaining read. I was engaged throughout the whole book. Grumley has a way with keeping you captivated.
