The Fortress that the Station Core had constructed was completely destroyed following a particularly brutal attack by superior forces - but they had won, albeit by the skin of their teeth. Unfortunately, the force that had attacked him on his home turf was only a very small portion of those heading inevitably closer to the Kingdom’s border. After the beating that they had just taken, Milton, Rosewyn, Moxwell, Brint, Whisp, and the rest of the Guardian Guild knew that even with access to the Station Core’s dungeon, they wouldn’t be able to save the entire Kingdom all by themselves.

Therefore, they must do all they can to delay the northern army of Bearillas and Quizards, knowing all the while that time was not on their side. Meanwhile, other plans are hatched to bend the citizenry to their cause; however, Milton and the others are not the only ones devising plans - the Cordpower Company still has it out for the Guild.

But will their efforts be enough to save everyone? Only the brave actions of the Proctans - and Milton’s Combat Units, of course - will determine that, as various plans come to fruition as The Kingdom Rises.

4th installment of an epic dungeon core series

Brooks does dungeons extremely well. I have listened to or read (or both) to several series that he has done and they are all spectacular. This is the 4th installment of a five book series. It finds our dungeon core and his bands
Of followers locked into an epic struggle with a rival core that has gone mad over the millennia. They must strengthen themselves and do what they can to make The kingdom ready for what is coming. They face stiff opposition on all sides but what else is new. Odds must be faced and overcome. Get it along with the rest of the series and enjoy it. Another misleading run-time.

This series continues to be interesting, but it also continues to drown under bland stat and advancement lists. The author makes an effort to ameliorate it by sectioning off some of the stats list into their own chapters which can then be skipped.

However, even after you skip those chapters, very often you’ll run right into another list of resources, skill options, etc. And these lists are considered part of the story. I normally don’t mind the stats and progression info in most LitRPG, even in books that many other people found overstuffed with the “data” of the characters. Brooks takes it to a whole new level though. Often times the book would only make it 10-15 minutes in between 5-10 minute lists.

Though the run time of this book is something like 13 hours... the actual story amounts to more like half of that. It’s a bit misleading, and in the end the stat lists are uninspired and often seem irrelevant to the events in the book.

Though Brooks comes right out and tells us that he’s a lover of all the technical number basis for LitRPG, in the end, he doesn’t do a great job of making those elements relevant to the story he’s telling.

Please Mr Brooks, try to get a better handle on balancing your books and making the numbers interesting enough to be worth including.

another fantastic addition to the series

4th book and still going strong. The author once more delivers everything u could want in a dungeon core and litrpg novel, along with all the other things u need for good stories in general (like a hook, enjoyable characters, progression, etc...). The narrator also continues to do a fantastic job. For those who have already listened to the first 3, book 4 does not dissappoint. And if u thought the end of book 3 left you with ur jaws dropped, just u wait till you get to book 4s end.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of dungeon core and litrpg/gamelit.

First off this book is a great addition to the series and sets up the ending of the series to be amazing. The ending of this book is one heck of a cliffhanger as it makes you want to listen to the last book asap. If you've enjoyed the rest of this series you'll most definitely enjoy this series. What an ending to a book.

Core Tactics!!!

Great story and narration!

Milton and the gang are back and under siege! Power Core is in control and trying to hunt everybody down! Another station core, quizards galore, more bearzillas than you can shake a stick at, and a mysterious new monster!?! The gang will have to play their cards just right, or all of the Proctans will die!

I enjoyed this continuation of the series. If you have enjoyed it so far, then you will love this one too!

I can't wait to find out what happens next!!!

Solid series.

*Wish there was more story about Brint and Wisp.
*Fights can be drawn out but story events rushed.
*Magic gets convoluted.

Awesome book

Really enjoyed this book and the whole series! Mr. Brooks is a great author and knows his stuff can’t recommend enough! Also suggest Dungeon Wold and Crafter Dungeon series as they also have really fun and different viewpoints!
