What happened to the young girl?

The story was good, but there’s no answer about what happened to the young girl who she belong to or for mother ever connected with her. Felt like that was a key piece missing.

Delightful Mystery

Mrs. Jeffries and her household staff outsmarted another killer to help their bumbling, but lovable employer, Chief Inspector Gerald Witherspoon.

Where's a real detective when you really need one?

I liked the stories they're pretty cute and imaginative. plenty convoluted in lots of nice suspects. but I just can't believe that any police station would have such a totally awful detective.

I love the continuing hijinks of Mrs Jeffries and her friends! I hope to keep reading this extensive series. Lots of laughs!

Great twists and turns!

Its nice to know the main characters so as each new adventure ensues we chuckle at typical reactions, or can be suspicious of unexpected behavior. Til next time, Mrs J

Appallingly ridiculous.

It's really unkind to write highly critical reviews of an author's work. But, when I was a young person, books of these quality, both as to plot and characterization would have been sold in paper backed, newsprint paper publications, sold for approximately a quarter, on newsstands.

It is either the deterioration of the quality of the readership, or of the publishers, that an entire series, based on this abysmally stupid investigator and his unbelievable servants, would have a following.

One only has to have read at the quality of writing and storytelling of authors popular during the so-called "Golden Age," of mystery writers, to cringe at that which passes as contemporary light reading. Devoid of clever plotting, characters that the reader would have summoned little sympathy if they had perished in an alien invasion from Mars - except for the dog, I liked the dog - and a waste of battery power on a listening device.

Otherwise, it was better than being locked in solitary without human contact.

I had a hard time following this book. I kept on nodding off. started off good, but didn't keep my interest.
