I liked it.

I just wanted to rate it and not have to write a review. It was good, but why is everyone obsessed with immortality?

Great pacing, nice surprises.

One thing I really loved was that the pace varied, creating different moods. It’s hard to explain but it was a great journey. There were a few nice surprises also. I have listened to months of this particular genre. I enjoy it, but some can be a little bit predictable in the same ways. I did not find much of that here. I’m starting the next in a few!

it statrted off slow with the introduction of new characters but once it got started i couldn't stop listening to the book.

Like all his books, this is a great listen! Story is well written with with familiar characters, and some new ones . This is an excellent start to a new storyline. Steven Brand’s narrating is perfect! This is the only way to follow the Echoes of Fate series!

It was not as good as I hoped, but it was rather well done. all the fantasy seems to run together today. it's hard to really be different, but this isn't too bad.

This is a pretty awesome story! No one character is safe and all are put in deathly Danger!! The narrator is amazing and kills it!!

Another Leg in the Adventure

Over all the work was well done! Steven Brand continues to breathe life into the world of Philip C. Quaintrell, who continues to present a fascinating world to fall into.

I appreciated the story. There were moments that felt weaker or perhaps rushed compared to the previous books, but I am a fan of the scenes painted overall. The difficulty of capturing an entire continent of activity while characters cross paths with other characters is no small task. I think I most appreciated the actual devastation presented; fact is, there is no perfect world where those fighting for "the good side" will always win. Seeing the delemas created between sides and the characters that wish to do the right thing, but don't always have the best grasp of what that may be was relatable. From the perspective of every character they are doing the right thing for the people they are tasked with leading.

At times, the antagonist was frustrating, yet I appreciated that the plan wasn't given away off the bat. We discover there are things kept even from those working with and for the antagonist. One of the centeral protagonists was also a bit frustrating at times, as they would complain or attempt a selfrightousness that didn't always fit. I would forget how old this character is supposed to be as the inner dialogue and actions could be seen as childish, yet aren't we all a touch childish when we get frustrated and things don't go as we wanted? I believe this book to be a worth while read/listen.
