A different kind of reverse harem series

I have read many reverse harem fantasy/paranormal books. A lot of then seem to have a similar outline and cast of characters but this series was something quite different.

I won’t spoil anything but do highly recommend listening if you are looking for a reverse harem series with a bit more complexity and wheee the MC is (for the most part) a strong leading lady that you will want to root for. The narration is in a third person pov which is also a nice change as most are in first person and focuses on the obsessive inner thoughts of the MC.

Favorite Tara West Novel!

I love her ability to weave erotica with a very good storyline. Of all that I have read from her, it is safe to say she has really hit her stride and produced perfection.

Intriguing yet dull

So the narrator does a decent job which is always important for an audiobook, the various voices aren’t that distinctive and the emphasis on certain words or during a heightened emotional situation could be a lot more, it’s like she does just enough.

The story is well written and the characters are somewhat interesting. While there is a distinctive good vs evil going on I don’t have a strong opinion one way or another on who lives, who wins, etc; I feel the author didn’t do enough to make me either become attached to some characters or to have a strong feeling on what happens in their lives.

I think the story idea is a good one, I like that the sex scenes are short, I think the queen is a bit unrealistic with her expectations at times, I feel like there could be more action and I feel like I am curious enough to want to know what happens but the book is full enough in areas that I fell asleep while listening.
