Weston Kincaid was my first...everything.
My brother's best friend should have come with a warning label. The man was a cautionary tale and we were the ill-fated cliche. The star quarterback to my loner art geek. But I didn't listen. Not to the warnings. Not to my instincts. I fell, and I fell hard.
Then he left and I was forced to pick up the pieces of my broken heart.
A decade and a lifetime later, he's back. Only instead of being the star jock, he's now a surgeon. A sexy, irresistible surgeon who happens to save my friend's life. As if all that isn't bad enough, he has it in his determined, arrogant head that we should pick up where we left off. But this time, it'll take more than devouring looks and the rush of his touch to temp me back into his bed. And my heart? Not an option.
He's about to figure out, I'm not the same girl he left behind.

The Edge of Forever by J. Saman was pining, regret, and unrequited first love given a second chance.
Wesley Kincaid was Aria's older brother's best friend. She had a crush on him from the beginning. Growing up, they had an undeniable connection, albeit secret. Wes went away for college, troubled by family issues that he kept hidden. He wanted to better himself to be the man Aria deserved when he came back for her. Without knowing that, Aria left the country to live her life. Ten years later, tragedy brings them back together when Wes ends up being her best friend's surgeon. Wes refuses to let her get away again.
The Edge of Forever flashes back and forth from their past to the present day, giving the reader insights into who they've become and how they got there. Wes and Aria's lovestory was cute, though Wes did not have to work hard to get his second chance. The other focus of the book was the attack of Aria's best friend, Josh, and his hospitalization. Be aware of trigger warnings.
I almost had to DNF the audiobook. Erik Bloomquist's narration came across as very robotic at times. It didn't matter if I sped it up or slowed it down. But, I really enjoyed Madeleine Dauer's narration, so I powered through and found it was worth it.
Loved story but MMC narrator was robotic at times

My least favorite J. Saman work. They bounce between 12 years ago and today every other chapter.i got so bored with the past I started skipping those chapters.
FMC has two people after her that she seems to like equally. She lets both of them kiss her and manhandle her. No back bone. Friend at the edge of death in the center of the story doesn’t get much of an ending other than he lives.
They don’t do much, just constant days in the hospital. Flat characters. No compelling reason why they were separated. Meh
Bouncing between past and present
