Elizabeth Kay, Victor Quixabas, and Aryann Michele were perfectly cast to bring this fun love story off the page.

Meet Nathan, the big boss of the local ice hockey team, the Racketeers. He's the no-nonsense leader who always has the final say. Then there's Crew, the hotshot new player for the team and Dani's best friend's little bro. Let's not forget about Michael, the charming team doctor who catches Dani's eye with his suave demeanor. And of course, there's Dani herself - a writer by day, and a proud co-owner of a bookshop and bakery with her BFF. Dani's love life has hit a rough patch ever since her ex made her feel bad for speaking her truth. When this quirky crew realizes they all have eyes for Dani, they team up to cook up a plan that just might bring joy to everyone. The only hurdle left? Getting Dani on board with their mischievous scheme!

Fun and Captivating Why Choose Hockey Romance

First in series it reads as a full stand alone. If I didn't know there were more books available, I would have been very satisfied with the story ending where it did.

Danielle is a lucky lucky girl. She is talked into a date with a friend of a friend and it's a double with her BFF at a hockey game. At the end of the game she has 3 men associated with the team very interested in her.

I love why choose romance because you can have a variety of heroes that stimulate and compliment the heroine's personality in different ways. And who wouldn't want to be chased by 3 amazing men who fall hard and fast.

Nathan is the owner of the team, he's a bossy billionaire who goes after what he wants and gets his way at all times (including the bedroom).
Michael is the doctor on the team, he wants to care for Danielle, wine and dine and appeal to her on a more sophisticated level. He sees her book loving writer side and wants to help nurture that passion (by providing inspiration).
Crew is her best friend's little brother. He's a star hockey player recently traded back to the home town team and he's been crushing on Dani for as long as he's known her. He's energetic and full of life wanting to make her smile and laugh. I love his golden retriever "I can share no problem" attitude. For him, it really is all about Dani's happiness as long as he can hold her and call her his, he has no issues.

The audiobook was performed in duet by a full cast. We have Sebastian York, Penelope Rose, Zachary Johnson, Winston James as our 4 main characters. We also have supporting performances from AM Elizabeth Kay, Victor Quixabas & Aryann Michele. Most of these were new to me narrators but they fit their characters so well. I was able to lose myself in the story and just go with the flow as they learned to share, work as a team and found a groove that brought them to their HEA. Laughs and swooning are definitely included.

I will definitely want to continue the series and see what comes next for this group.

The upside of a bad date

Who says public humiliation can’t make for an interesting meet cute? This dynamic cast of narrators: Sebastian York, Penelope Rose, Zachary Johnson, Winston James, AM Elizabeth Kay, Victor Quixabas, and Aryann Michele did a phenomenal job of bringing Nathan, Michael, Crew, and Danielle’s why choose story to life. It was a fun listen and I can’t wait to dive into book two.

Fun story

Puck One Night Stands is the first book in the Chicago Racketeers series, and while it can be read as a standalone, there are other books continuing the story.

This was such a fun, why choose romance! While only one character (Crew) is a hockey player, the other two MMCs are still part of the team.

I love how they each brought something different to their “relationship” with Dani and found a way to get along with each other outside of hockey.

There wasn’t much plot, but it was still a cute and spicy read.
