Resumen del Editor

"Life is a dream but the dream is true." (Sadhguru)

In The Drunken Act, Sadhguru is as eloquent as ever about overcoming any form of make-believe, be it drunkenness or pandering to ones psychological processes. Bold, witty, and incisive, Sadhguru offers us a way out of the traps of the psyche.

Transformation of the mind

The concepts are difficult if you are hell bent on believing logic is the precipice to understanding this life. These are truths spoken, not knowledge. That distinction is Paramount to understand there is a perspective transformation behind each of these sayings. Listen multiple times and contemplate it from your own experience.

Small bottle but potent

Don’t underestimate this short book. It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read.

Invaluable if you can grasp it

If your new to spirituality this book will likely sound like nonsense. However if your mind is in a place to both understand and accept what is being said here. Then “liberation, enlightenment, realization, or whatever you’d like to call it, is right there. This transformation in a human being is rare and it’s even more rare for it to be instantaneous. Sadhguru lays out the golden key on a silver platter for whomever is brave enough to take it.

Insightful, thoughtful, relatable

True to form—Sadhguru’s teachings make esoteric subjects relatable. With stories and humor, he talks about the freedom we have to choose our acts (as in a play) in life. We can adhere to a character with which we identify and become limited, or we can discard any affinity for one single character and be limitless in our ability to choose.

Not so pleased

I am a fan of Sadhguru, but this material sounds too worldly. It is a monologue with very little structure and doesn’t do justice to his wisdom or the depth of the subject he is covering. I stopped listening half way through.

Great, but confusing

I just found Sadhguru on YouTube and wanted to know more about his teachings and philosophy. I have a feeling that if you’re not a Yogi (I think that’s his religious philosophy), than this will be confusing to you… because I’m confused, lol. So, I think this book is better if you have some background experience, but if you don’t, this will be a waste of a whole credit to you. Also, he does speak amazing English, but this isn’t a book, this is a talk, so he is not actually narrating and in conversation, thus it can be hard to understand his words at times. I was hoping he’d give me the “formula” of his philosophy and the “abc’s” so to speak, but I did not get that as a Westerner who is pretty new to all of this. I can see he has peace though, and I really would like my damn mind to shut up. But this book did get the wheels of my mind to start turning… I just didn’t get the part that we didn’t exist though, but “the dream was real”… I’m pretty sure I exist… I just bought the audiobook… Even though it’s actually not a book, it’s a talk. But whatever.
