Another Gem!

Enjoyed this audiobook just as much as the previous one…. Loved how strong and independent the women were portrayed. Thank goodness the author chose the same narrator again… She really did an incredible job!

This was an AMAZING EXPERIENCE to learn about these Librarians from our past. this should be taught in our schools as a part of American History.
I'm 70 years old and I'm just leaning about these Fearless and Brave Men And Women???
my grand and great grand children are being taught now about these Librarians and the Kentucky Blues history by me. Simply AMAZING 👏

A must read

The book was wonderful. A must if you have read the Book Woman. It could also be a stand alone, but together they are exceptional!

Wonderful story

This story was outstanding, focusing on little known historical facts of the Blue people of Eastern KY, the packhorse book project, and the restrictive laws affecting women and, in particular, the “Blues”, in the 1950s. The audio narrator is excellent, using a lilting southern accent, reminiscent of many of my former KY clients met in the Greater Cincinnati area. The characters are strongly portrayed, and the story moving and interesting throughout. This audio version is not to be missed.

Wonderful story with colorful, rich characters. Loved the food, language & history of Kentucky. Highly recommend.

Great read

Interesting both as a stand-alone story and a continuation. A rich, powerful and thought provoking look at women, young women and systems that were repressive. Yet this story is deep with hope, victory and resilience.
If I had one wish it would be have had an epilogue with the parents to complete their stories.

A Glimpse into Kentucky

I had read the first book, Book Woman of Troublesome Creek, and was excited when this book appeared. I was not disappointed and heartily recommend it.

Kim has done it again! Another stupendously delightful Kaintuck tale. Love, loyalty, and the fierceness of mountain women are as thick in this piece as the kudzu is in our hollers.
