Another 5 Star Story Worth Waiting For

I adore the way CD Reiss weaves a story. Always brilliant, fascinating and compelling. Expertly performed by Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton. I can't wait for Book 2.

Dario and Sarah are amazing!

Great start to this series. Lots of mafia action, and wonderful storyline.
Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon do a great job w/the narration.

Enticing

Dario is both bad and good. Is he a good man doing bad things or a bad man doing good things?

Sarah would say the latter. He is her abductor and husband. Not a marriage of consent and done at gunpoint. Marriage made in heaven? Surely not.

But the more they come to know and understand each other, Sarah learns he is not just her abductor and husband, he’s her lover and teacher. Dario finds himself intrigued, enchanted and admiring this woman he stole and married in a Colonia wedding.

Ulterior motives be damned. He’s keeping her! Freedom may just be her downfall, and his, as well.

But that ending. Not at all what I expected. Blindsided!

Wow!!!

Another fantastic dark romance book by Ms. Reiss. There are many twists and turns throughout with lies upon lies and secrets kept from loved ones not as a means of protecting, but controlling to preserve their way of life. Women are commodities. Sarah finds out her life is a fantasy when she arrives in Darrio's world. The cliffhanger had me yelling at Ms. Reiss in my head. I must find out what happens in the next book. Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton are paired perfectly in bringing this book to life.

A good start to a new trilogy!

Dario was so cruel in the beginning I didn’t think he had any nice in him but he came through by the end. And poor Sarah was caught in a war not of her making but she was strong enough to survive and give as good as she gets. That cliffhanger at the end though sure made me side-eye Dario big time. This was a good start to a new trilogy.

Erin Mallon’s narration was good and always enjoyable to hear. As far as I’m concerned, she could’ve narrated this whole book and I would be fine with it. Teddy Hamilton has a pleasant voice but I just can’t get into his style of narration.

Female narrator ruined it

It was so painful to get through this because of the female narrator. Breathy and monotonous. I can't even listen to the other books and that stinks because in left with a cliff Hanger! Male narrator did great!

CD Reiss did it again!!!

This book…. This story… is excellent!! What just happened??? I was so caught up in this story that I didn’t realize it was so close to the end!! I’m glad book 2 is coming soon!! I need to know what happens!

CD Reiss is an always read author for me. Her books always reach into my emotions and hold on and never let go.

Sarah is such and innocent and knows nothing of the real world! Dario kidnaps her on her wedding day.. a wedding to unite families…. He takes her to ruin her … but can he? You need this book! I will be telling everyone I know who reads or listens to books to get this book!!

what the heck!!!! what is going on with that ending? 😳 I can't believe it. omg 😲 😱 😲 😱 well I can't wait for the next book . I need to know what the heck is going on. omg I'm going to be piss if he did what he did to her. that is so wrong in so many ways. 😕 😞 😔. poor girl.

Cult like quality in a mafia format

Sarah Colonia was taken on her wedding day by Dario Lucari. Her marriage to Sergio was to bind two territories. Dario took Sarah to hurt her father. He seeks vengeance against the Colonia’s.

CD Reiss writes filthy scenes that have an impact on readers who embrace or crave graphic naughty sex. For me it was over-the-top. I had to disconnect my mind from the way Dario spoke to Sarah. Humiliation and degrading women isn’t my thing. The content in this book wasn’t appealing to me. I’m not the intended audience for this type of story.

Sarah’s character was like a child learning and seeing the world for the first time. Her sheltered life kept her from being an independent woman with the freedom to explore.

Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon saved me from reading this book. I’m an eyes and ears person requiring both the ebook and audiobook to enhance my experience. In this case when the content is subpar it’s not the result of the performance that has me cringing. I praise both narrators for bringing this story to life far better than I would’ve had I made an attempt to actually read it without skimming it.

There is nothing I love more than a CD Reiss Book

Love the story, love the author and love Teddy Hamilton. I recommend buying the book and NOT the audio. While I love Erin this was not the book for her and I am going to leave it that. However, Ms Reiss delivers as always and on to the “book” for the second and third. Enjoy worth reading
