Resumen del Editor

Storm at Keizer Manor, a triple award winning time travel romance novel.

While her boyfriend Forrest searches for a job, quick witted Annet works at the Keizer Manor where the oils from 19th century master painter Alexander Keizer are exhibited.

After a fight, the couple strolls through the dunes. When dark clouds roll in, the beautiful sunny weather turns into a thunderstorm so violent that they get separated.

The next morning, Forrest finds himself alone. So does Annet.

Regaining consciousness in a monastery, Annet is convinced the nuns are playing a prank on her. It can't be the 1800's! She's a pregnant twenty-first century woman and doesn't belong there. But how will she get back to her own time?

Captivating

This is one of the best audiobooks I have listened to in a while. I loved Annette, and her strength amazed me. Forrest was also uniquely loveable. Such an amazingly well told time travel romance. It left me satisfied, yet wanting more. It was extremely hard to pick a book to follow it.

Stupendous story and narration

This was an exceptional story, from the first to the last sentence. I have to start with, I am NOT a romance reader, but this book blew me away. The author has a very easy to read style that comes alive the further into it you get, and has such a magnetism that you sit down thinking you will read for twenty minutes and before you know it a couple hours and 2/3 of the book has passed! The narrator was excellent for the book, and I loved the seamless switching from Annet to Forrest and from past to present with NO confusion, that's really hard to pull off and was spectacularly done here. All in all a fantastic read, and thank you for the opportunity to review this jewel.

Really good time travel story

The story is a good twist on a time travel theme. It is nicely written. It is unfortunately ruined by the narrator whose diction is terrible. Our narrator cannot pronounce contractions or any T that occurs in the middle of a word. It is jarring to hear. I will make a point of not choosing another book read by this narrator.

This book took me on a terrific journey!

I found myself enthralled with this audio book. It is a time travel story, but like no other I've ever read. The outspoken, foul mouthed heroine didn't ask to be sent back in time. The awkwardness of finding herself in a time where the women must wear voluminous uncomfortable garments, watch their mouths and take care of the home is severely challenging for Annette. That added a lot of levity to the story. Her showing up in that time period pregnant and unmarried was a whole different aspect to the time travel.
There were twists and turns to the story that kept me flipping the pages with anticipation. Annette loves a man in each time period. If she has a choice of staying back in time or returning to her normal life, which will she choose? I'm not telling.
I was given a complimentary copy of this audio book. All thoughts are my own.

Wonderful time travel romance

What a fantastic story. Romances are not my usual fair, and this book surprised me as I wasn't expecting one. Annet drove me mad with her petulant behaviour and I wanted to shake her at times. Her mom was a real piece of work. I loved the juxtoposition of her 21st century language against the more formal 19th century language of the time period she landed in. Ramcy Diek has a good understanding of the machinations of the societal nonsence women had to deal with in the 19th century. I wasn't too keen on Susan Marlowe's husky vouce at the start of the novel, but the story kept me at it. By the end of the book I had gotten used to Susan's voice and stopped noticing the huskiness. Overall, a good performance by her on this story.

Storm at Keizer Manor

I totally enjoyed this book! Annette and Forrest are caught in a storm and end up seperated by centuries.Annette is sent back in time to make sure Keizer Manor comes to be. She makes a lot of faux pas ,but gets by. Susan Marlowe was a terrific narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Career girl gets transported to 19th Century

What happens when a thoroughly modern and pregnant 21st century woman known for her "potty-mouth" gets sent back to the 19th century? Will she make her way back or be stuck there forever? Will she find her way back to her true love Forrest or have to make a new life with her baby in the past? Given these basics to work with Ramey Diek crafted a marvelous time travel romance that was neither straightforward nor predictable! It was however, extremely entertaining and very relatable! It also came at the perfect time for me. I was ready for a good romance and like the occasional time travel story and this fit the bill nicely. Annette was a fiesty career gal who got thrown into the 1840's and all that was expected of women then - without really any tutelage except anything she might have happened to have read-which lead to some interesting encounters! The story did not proceed as expected, there were several twists that surprised me, and the ending was not predictable. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend that you take the time to listen as well!

Flawless, Unique & Engaging Time Travel Adventure

Let it be said upfront - I am not a fan of the time travel genre, finding the books, in general, to be repetitive, a little tedious, hard to connect with, and far fetched (yes I know it's supposed to be fantasy but..... ), Also full of stereotypical barbarians, evil clansmen or other poor representatives of the era. In short, most of them just don't add jam to my sandwich....

But I do love Ramcy Diek and decided I would put my trust in her and run with it. And with Susan Marlowe reading, I knew the pace would be excellent and the characterisations engaging.

I simply was not prepared to absolutely love this book - I was so sad it ended - I wanted to hear so much more about Amazon' and the Kaisers, the industrial revolution and the quirky women of the era who broke out of the expected traditional mold. This book is utterly captivating and a fantastic listen from beginning to end and from the scenes in the Nunnery to the underwear in the textile factory, totally hilarious. Bravo!!!!
