Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! This was a very sweet, unique love story that you makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Probably Reynolds. He was pretty tough and pretty funny.

What about Ross Pendleton’s performance did you like?

Awwww he is simply amazing. He has the most masculine, smooth voice. Like a good whiskey lol. His scottish accent was awesome. The female voices..eh not great but I could definitely tell they were female. Although I am glad he doesn't have the most beautiful feminine voice cause I think that may have distracted from the story anyway.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It actually was. Sweet, simple but complex, and interesting.

Any additional comments?

If you are looking for a good, wholesome, love story then this is it. While it is not raunchy, it does have a few descriptive love scenes. I would recommend this book as a credit or as cash. You will not be disappointed!

Finally, honesty at the outset

Where does Everything in Its Time rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Unlike most of the dramatic action in most romances, where the protagonists don't talk honestly leading to conflict, in this series they actually tell each other and their family and friends the truth and work it out

Story was interesting…

The overall story was interesting and kept my attention. However, I found myself once again fast-forwarding through many sexually explicit encounters between the characters. There are also attempted rape, kidnapping, and assault situations which are quite detailed. I would have preferred a cleaner version without the numerous sexual encounters. After the aforementioned details, I’m put off by this selection and doubt I’ll purchase another by the author.
I gave the performance a 3-star because of the voices of the female characters. I’ve yet to hear a male narrator who is able to alter his voice enough to be a believable female. They end up sounding ridiculous. His male characters were wonderful and he managed to differentiate between them quite well.

An easy listen

A nice story that is slow to get moving but has a lot more action in the second half. Characters are OK hero is likeable heroine character could have been developed more. Narrator does get a bit annoying with doing female voices badly a female narrator would have been better!

Amazing adventure

Best book I have ordered because the twists in the story line and unique rising action.

I'm willing to suspend belief, but....

Would you try another book from Dee Davis and/or Ross Pendleton?

Probably not.

He did okay with the material he was given. It's hard to bring the characters to life when the author can't be bothered to give them personalities.

Could you see Everything in Its Time being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

This book would need an entire rewrite before going to the screen.

I had great hopes for this book and really wanted to like it. It had a couple of my favorite themes - time travel and historical Scotland. This was a poorly crafted story. We know nothing about the the hero and heroine before they're banging away like bunnies. Are we really to believe that a woman, who has never slept with anyone in her life, upon waking in a strange environment, would really jump into bed with some random guy without even getting his name first? The two characters had no real bond other than sex. Really, who pines for a one night stand for eight years?

And the use of clan tartans didn't start happening until the 1700s. There were plaids in the 1400s, but they weren't clan specific.

Anyway, this just felt more like a school girl's sexual fantasy than a novel. It was just poorly developed story line between sex scenes and it would have been SO MUCH better if it had been fleshed out a bit more.

Great Listen

This was one of those books that is just a great story with a great narrator.
I love time travelling books and this one rates right up there with Karen Marie Morning highlander series.this is the kind of book you want to curl up with a cup of coffee and a rainy day and immerse yourself in

This was a cute steamy story for a nice long drive, ready for the trilogy.

Ross Pendleton is the BEST!

Almost every night I am lulled to sleep by the sound of his delicious voice and DeeDavis’s steamy well written novel.

Very Enjoyable.

Enjoyed this one. Narration with Scottish accent was awesome, and the story kept my interest. So much so I just ordered another in the series. Don't want to give away any spoiler alerts, but I really enjoyed Kitty's brother Jeff finding his way back in time to help her. All in all it was well worth my $$.
