Weirdly, people don’t react overly well when you’re caught standing over the dead body of a murderer who’d walked free. It’s not that I thought my fellow homicide detective would rejoice when he saw what I’d done, but is a pat on the back too much to ask for? Maybe a gold star at the very least? The problem is that the person who caught me is Gabriel, the only person I care for and adore… and he’s prepared to look the other way if I leave homicide and promise to never kill again.

He has his little freak outs and hesitates on giving into love. They have their fare share of “I miss you but we are at a standstill” moments that keep you listening and waiting for more!

Love to soothe your soul
If this story doesn’t give you all the feels I don’t know what will. I giggled, felt my heart break for them and was in awe of their absolute devotion to one another. A chance meeting of old acquaintances on an island getaway leads to a beautiful love. Jarrod and Devin were absolutely meant for each other but the timing had to resolve itself for them to grab their happily ever after. Devin had to battle feeling not good enough because of his lifestyle while Jarrod battled worrying what the hockey world would think of him. In the end love was all that mattered!
