I have been obsessed with storm chasing since I was little, so I knew this was going to be a hit with me.

A television company wants to do a reality show about storm chasing, bringing together two rival teams to compete for a spot on the show. Ozrik is determined to win, but after running into Gale and falling for him, his determination becomes to win Gale’s heart, not the spot on the show.

Ozrik is the “bad boy” everyone knows and loves. Gale is only doing the show for his sister but has a serious crush on Oz. Gale and Oz’s connection is an instant zap with a slow burn to acceptance. I love how Gale brings out the softer but protective side of Oz.

🎧 Nick J. Russo was fantastic again, bringing the characters and story to life.

The dynamic duo Nicky James and Nick J Russo do it again! I freaking loved this story! It was captivating and had so much depth. Oz and Gale had electrifying chemistry and to see them grow and progress as they chase storms somewhat competitively was all the feels. Nick just took this story to the next level and brought these amazing characters to life! Absolute fantastic story and narration, highly recommend! Zap!

I'm was super excited to see a story about storm chasers. Nicky James always seems to have an originality to her stories that I appreciate.

Ozrik and his best friend Vern have been storm chasing since high school finished. Ozrik is desperate to escape the oppression of his mentally ill mother and her constant worry of him.

YouTube rival/competition Liv and her team get offered the same chance at recording a television series as Ozrik and Vern's team. Olivia's twin brother and amateur photographer/atmospheric scientist Gale is guilted into joining her. He struggles with social anxiety prefers the openness of the country over busy, crowded cities.

Quiet, fade into the background Gale and loud, energetic Ozrik are obviously total opposites but find a quiet pull towards each other.

The amazing narration really elevated this already fantastic story. It brought to life the adrenalin filled chases and added the perfect amount of vulnerability to the emotional moments. I was applauding Gale for his bravery, even when he was scared out of his mind. That man has many layers and his innocence and sweetness had earned him a place in my heart. I fully appreciated Ozrik's gentleness with him too.

"F***, Do you feel it?"
"What?"
"The electricity. "
I don't understand.
"Zap, Gale. Every time."
"Oh."
I knew exactly what he meant because I felt it too. Every time. The shock was no longer physical, but it was there. "

I feel that Gale's dad deserves a mention for the great dad that he is. His unwavering love and support was heart-warming.

I was fully invested the whole way through. I happily recommend Stormz Rising and hope we get more of this world.

Twister only better

I loved this story. Many years ago I was obsessed with movie Twister and when I started listening to Stormz Rising I was excited, chasing tornadoes only with MM trope, captivating writing and amazing narration, I was not able to put it down. Gale and Oz were so cute together, their chemistry was lightening hot and the storyline of reality TV with all the twists and turns made it more interesting. Another great collaboration of Nicky James' beautiful writing and Nick Russo' talented narration, this was a perfect listening experience.
