From TLC’s Sister Wives star Christine Brown Woolley, a groundbreaking and heartfelt memoir about living in a family like no other and finding the strength to leave polygamy—and the only life she’s known—behind.

Christine Brown Woolley had always dreamed of having a picture-perfect family—beautiful children, an adoring husband, and of course, a sisterhood of wives to share him with. Raised in Utah by practicing polygamists, Christine knew her life was less than normal, but that didn’t stop her from loving the full house of her childhood any less.

Becoming Kody Brown’s third wife in 1994, Christine finally found the big, happy family she had hoped for. When TLC’s hit show Sister Wives premiered in 2010, Christine knew it was her chance to shine a light on the brighter side of polygamy—the helping hands, the lively discussions, and their unmatched devotion to each other. But the cameras also revealed a much darker truth.

Now, in this candid tell-all, Christine shares for the first time the journey that led her away from polygamy and the bold path she is carving to live apart from all she has ever known. Moving, genuine, and insightful, this is a uniquely powerful tour de force of Christine’s journey toward and beyond her time in the spotlight as a sister wife.

Watching Sister wives from the beginning, watching the children grow up and their lives change. I am so happy for the 3 OG wives to have left and to actually live a better happy life. So happy for Christine and David. Hoping for their continued love and happiness with all of their families.

Thank you

Not sure there was a lot of secrets revealed, which is just so Christine-just her story, her way. Loved listening to her share the intimate details of her life and so honored that she would share her vulnerabilities with us. POWERFUL and PRECIOUS!

She is so authentic!

I was on the fence about this one because I thought it would just be regurgitated stories that I had already read or seen, and while there were a few things we all already know or think we know, there is a lot that is new, or potentially told in a more detailed and honest way now that Christine has some distance from her former life and is probably able to speak and see things more clearly. This was a really great book overall, and having Christine read it made it feel even more personal. I enjoyed learning about her life and family prior to becoming a sister wife and I very much appreciate how open and honest she was about her experiences being in a plural marriage and the journey she took to be able to be where she is now. I used to watch Sister Wives in the beginning, but stopped after a while because I just could not stand seeing how poorly she, the other wives and children were treated. I remember being pleasantly surprised and thinking how strange it was to be genuinely happy for someone I didn’t even know when I first read that she left that situation. It was around that time that I regained interest and began to keep up with what was going on with all of them again. One thing that I want to make sure to highlight is that Christine is much more intelligent and articulate than the way she has been portrayed on the show in the past and I’m really glad that she able to allow us to see that side of her. I think that even if you have never seen the show, but are a woman, mom, or just someone interested in different religions or lifestyles, etc, you would still enjoy this book and get something useful out of it. I appreciate that Christine was willing to be so vulnerable and open with her story because I believe hearing it could help people who may also be in a similar or equally unhealthy situation gain the confidence they need to do the things they need to do to better their lives as well. I’m glad I bought this and am happy to be able to support Christine in this small way as she continues to share her story and inspire others.

Very good book. Highly recommend.

I have followed TLC's Sister Wives since it began airing. I always felt like I related most to Christine, so when I heard she was writing a book, I couldn't download it fast enough. I LOVED hearing her perspective individually, and learning about her childhood. As a native Utahn, and born member of the Mormon church, I grew up being afraid of polygamists. It breaks my heart to hear how afraid they are of outsiders. Christine is brave, authentic, loving, firey, and so unapologetically herself. I love this book and wish all of life's happiness to Christine and David. ❤️ Thank you, Christine.

I laughed, I cried, I loved it.

Christine, while sharing pivotal stories, didn’t write this book to throw any of the other wives under the bus. She gives a lot of grace to Robin, Meri, and Janelle. Hearing her experience was eye opening and I really hope Janelle, Meri, and even Robin write their own books one day.

Wow! She nailed it.

I really like how raw and honest she was. I really enjoyed it. Some of those parts really had to hurt reliving them. Thank you, Christine.

Honest!
