Educational & Awesome!

I love this book! These girls are amazing and can relate to other teens. I was surprised. It taught me a lot on how to be a better parent to my teen daughter. It also taught me things to think about as being a daughter myself. Even though having one child myself as planned & no regrets. We don't dress the way they do. I wish I had this audiobook when I was a teen myself. It would have saved me so much heartache & pain. This book taught me how to deal with it. I bought the book & audiobook in hopes my daughter will read it. I have heard her make comments like I hear in the book. She is in public school since grade 7. This book can help her and guide her father and I in many ways. The book has brought me closer to God. I learned a lot. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn about the Duggars and anyone with children in their lives. 😄

Would you consider the audio edition of Growing Up Duggar to be better than the print version?

I have both. Sometimes I don't have time to sit down and read, so I'll turn on my audiobook. I could listen to it anywhere! In the car on a roadtrip or at my house while I'm cleaning.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All the Duggar girls are inspiring.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

It made me feel like I was sitting in a room and having an actual conversation with the Duggar girls!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! But unfortunately, I didn't have the time to. ;) I would listen either 30 minutes or one chapter at a time.

I would recommend this to every teenage and college girl in the world. Love it!!!!

Every girl/woman should read this!

This is one of those books that every family should read. It helps with your own self perception, helps with parenting, and can bless your whole family if applied.

Good Read

This was very interesting and informative. I like it being narrated by the Duggar girls.

Absolutely loved this book.

I loved listening to this book. The girls message about how they have been raised in a Godly home with Christian values was beautiful. As a grown woman it has made me reevaluate my life and leaves me striving to put God back in the center of everything I do. I highly recommend this book for all ages but wow what an encouragement for young woman.

The love for Christ and family.

i like how they freely testify about Jesus Christ. I like how they make sure to tell their listeners they are not perfect but strive to follow Christ's direction for them.

Loved it

I love the Duggars and enjoyed hearing some more “behind the scenes” from years past. Even though things have definitely changed since then with the family. And the Josh parts were hard to listen to, the other girls stories were inspiring.

Take some, leave some

Let me start by saying that most people that know me would be confused at my purchasing this title. I’m atheist and am not a fan of organized religion.

I listened to this for the same reason I watch the show. I’m interested in the family dynamics. How did these two parents raise all of these kids to be kind, respectful, loving, and generous? I never hear them yell, or even correct their children in public. How does the homeschool work? My family is taking this educational journey as well. We also plan on having a larger amount of children than the typical 2-3 (not anywhere near 19).

So, I try to tune out the religious words and focus on the other messages. Character qualities, character building, praising 10x more than correcting, building life skills, being happy being single, parenting tidbits, fostering good sibling relationships, volunteering, helping the community, homeschool ideas, financial wisdom, not judging others, and being more positive in everyday life.

It did seem more “preachy” than the show, but overall a decent book. I would like them to release another book with more insights now that most are married and starting their own parenting journey.

Great read, but more for older teenagers and young adults and parents of young children.
