Life changing

I’ve been in therapy (trauma) for over a year. DV for 20…this book was recommended to me by my therapist, I listened to half the book and used it with my 22yr old..within the same week and explained why and how I reacted to him. He is now going to listen and try and relate in the green… two ripples!!!!Thank you, it was like magic when then thought hit me. (You are wanting to engage right now to prove that you’re right, he’s not hearing you…the speed of how he was talking indicated his activation) so I rolled back to green and within 10 minutes, he said he was sorry and didn’t understand why he reacted that way. Which opened the conversation about book, and what I learned.

Amazing! Finally found this book

After reading Attached, I’ve been searching hard for a book that delves deeper into the nuances of adult attachment theory, offers practical applications and examples of each attachment styles, and provides a roadmap to how to become secure. There are many books on the market and most I’ve checked out rehash old materials, contain only anecdotal information and empty fillers, as well as claims not backed by research. So happy that I’ve finally found this book! Extremely helpful and informative, excellent in every way.

I have been listening to these authors podcast, Therapist Uncensored, for years. I loved the podcast and the book exceeded my expectations! They are so excellent at explaining complex theory and research into a relatable format and making connections that really help translate the information into something useful for personal growth and professional application. As someone who has been studying attachment theory for years I always learn something new from their work and that is especially true of this book. I refer clients to read it as well the people close to me personally. The best part I think is that they are so good at consistently keeping their work non-judgmental and non-pathologizing.
