Referencing Mountain Man

So...I feel really called out in this book. I'm about 3-4 hours from finishing the book, but if I don't say this now, I'll forget later. When Oliver mentions listening to zombie audiobooks and even refers to the Mountain Man series, my ambiguity about the book teetered over to "this book is actually pretty awesome". I feel more connected to the character, but also the author. Also, for the narrator....I've listened to a lot of zombie audiobooks, but the narrator for this one is so good I actually had to stop listening right before bed or I was afraid I'd have nightmares. I've never done that before. I am very, very impressed with all parts of this book so far. Highly recommend if you're on the fence.

Some parts great, some okay, some not so much.

So it’s quite obvious that in the beginning the writer was going for that incredibly pithy, witty dialogue, but didn’t quite know how to pull it off thank god. It’s also overly filled with DEI bs. Once of the main characters insistence on not calling the zombies, “zombies” seems unnecessary. If it walks like one and talks like one, what’s the difference. It’s not like zombies are as supernatural as vampires being that there are a shitload of examples of zombie diseases and viruses that exist in nature that just can’t affect humans yet. The meat and cheese of the book are fine. and the bread is decent. But the condiments are total crap.

I can relate to this book on so many levels. I was a garbage man for years and I mainly on listen to zombie books on audible. I hate that it took so long to find this book. Saw it on TikTok and got it instantly. It is amazing in every way!

Great character development

Great descriptions of characters and scenes. I can almost picture it all as it goes down. Love the first book and can’t wait to see what happens next! I’m glad you have a nurse because I can relate to her.

It was hard to put down very well written and the narrator was very entertaining

It was a very interesting. I had questions about ok how will this play out with the rain but the author made all my questions answered not leaving it up in the air or to interpretation. I’m Hoping for a sequel.

this is the first zombie book that read that tells you why it is happening.

Refreshing

Now this is the type of zombies I like, brain eating zombies. Even though they are not trioxin 245 zombies, but a mixture of both trioxin 245 and the classic Romeo zombies. 😍

I liked the shorter time of the read

It was great! Had my attention, fully. I even got nervous in some spots. For it being a shorter read it was packed from start to finish and I was not left wondering for anything!
