Coy Mason is a jerk.
If there is one truth that Bellamy Davenport knows, it’s that. Well, that and the fact she didn’t mean to hurt him. Physically. Coy can’t be hurt emotionally because he doesn’t have a heart.
Coy is not just the small-town, literal boy next door. He’s a heartbreaking, womanizing, mischief-making (and delicious) man and was all of those things well before he became a hot-shot country music sensation.
He’s a dream standing in her doorway with no shirt, messy hair, and a “Do you wanna?” grin. But he’s also a nightmare for her heart, and she knows it.
Their enemies-to-lovers relationship always ends the same way—heavy on the enemies, light on the lovers.
So why is she still standing there?
Author's Note: Reputation is a standalone novel with heat and heart. No cliffhanger.

I love this author. I have enjoyed reading every book I have read by her. However, I was worried when promotion started on this one. All of the tropes in this book are so not my favorites. But, I love the author and have enjoyed all the series leading us here, so felt compelled to read it anyway. Yep! The music business crap was . . . (See that word crap?) Rolled my eyes at the frenemy stuff and got irritated at the second chance lack of communication stuff. Powered through the seriousness of dealing with manger illness. (Hits too close to home and I prefer to read for escape.) So yeah, not my favorite book by this author. However, it is written well, and in spite of my personal issues, it held my interest until the end. So those of you who like these tropes, you will love this book. I am looking forward to Boone's book.
I was gifted a copy of the audible - I did leave it to the author to pick. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it more than the first read through. Yes, I still dislike the above mentioned tropes, but different time, different mood. That and I think the narrators added to the story. They did a good job of presenting this in an exciting way. Enjoyed it greatly. I now give it a solid four stars, maybe even a 4.5. It took him a bit, but Coy finally figured it out! And I really do love this entire family. I believe I mentioned in one of my reviews that I wouldn't mind being adopted by them.
Surprisingly, I enjoyed

Oh, where to begin...I had trouble getting hooked on this story. Celebrity whining about something in his life. BUT, I had read the books prior to this and needed to know....why did Bellamy Davenport hate Coy Mason so much?!
Well, I wasn’t disappointed! Coy Mason has an outward appearance has a cocky playboy. Inside he in the boy next door that never stopped loving the girl next door. Coy being home made sure to place himself in Bellamy’s path at every turn.
Once Bellamy relented you get to see more side of both characters unfold. I laughed with the Mason family, swooned at Coy and his Mason boy charm and cried with Bellamy over her loss and heartache.
This book was a rollercoaster of emotions and one I would absolutely ride again!
Coy & Bellamy ❤️

Great emotional enjoyable listen with seamless narration.
The Performance:
The narrators did a great job. I pay attention to not only their ability to show emotion while reading their parts but how well they portray other characters when needed. In addition, the timing was on between them so I didn't find myself having to change listening speed depending upon who was reading. It was very smooth and enjoyable.
The Story:
“Coy Mason is a jerk.” No truer words and yet false all at the same time. I love characters that are a bit of a contradiction in that what they say and what goes on in their heads are polar opposite. This is true for both Coy and Bellamy but in different ways and I have different reactions to both.
With Coy what comes out of his mouth makes me want to throat punch and call him a man child that never grew up past pulling a girls hair in the sandbox that he likes. Where what goes on in his head makes me want to hug him and husband him up as soon as possible. I will say, and I feel that this is important, is that when he is driving Bells, Bellamy crazy his comments are not truly malicious even if 100% annoying. It also helps that Bellamy can hold her own against him. Unfortunately, when she brings out her claws to get back at him she is hurting herself just as much as she is hurting him. I might feel a bit of empathy for Coy, but Bells situation is heartbreaking. These two fight each other because they want and honestly need each other so much and neither of them know how to deal with their feelings. The chemistry is steamy, the banter on point, and the emotions thick.
This audible moves quickly. I didn’t find the back and forth too much or get to that point where I just wanted them to get it together. I think it unfolded organically and again quickly. It never stalled or took too long for either of them to get to where they needed or to reach the HEA I was looking for. The one note I have for anyone diving into this story is a bit of a sensitivity / trigger warning. Readers who might be impacted by a sick parent specifically a Dad and specifically fighting terminal cancer this is your warning. Its an important part of this story and small and big all at the same time but some of the side effects both physically and emotionally that a person deals with when going through chemo are detailed in a way that might hit harder and deeper than you would expect going into an enemies to lovers romance.
I loved it. Not only are the characters dynamic but so are the emotions this story elicits. I went from anger to crying to being hot and bothered the next moment. I also enjoy the family dynamic. No one does brothers and families the way Adriana Locke does them. It is why this author is one of my favorites!
