Offering their own histories and experiences as illustrations of the types of challenges facing dharma practitioners and teachers who are different from those of the past five decades, they ask how teachings that transcend color, class, and caste are hindered by discrimination and the dynamics of power, shame, and ignorance. Their illuminating argument goes beyond a demand for the equality and inclusion of diverse populations to advancing a new dharma that deconstructs rather than amplifies systems of suffering and prepares us to weigh the shortcomings not only of our own minds but also of our communities. Very thought provoking and inspiring toward action. The authors as narrators were excellent and helped to connect with their stories

So much wisdom. I’ll be listening to this audio book over and over as the teachings are so dense and still so relevant.

Oneness explained through black, queer, presence

This book extrapolates the black spirt, expression, and experience while examining the tolls that terrors of white supremacy and militarism takes on our souls and families. I appreciate every word and story here from these wise teachers. I’ve listened to this book on repeat. It’s educational and soothing and inspiring. Love hearing the voice of the authors.

Really loved this book. Issued many challenges to reach for. Audio quality was inconsistent though.

an amazing journey into the true nature of self and suffering

this was a profound read. the path to liberation is daunting, however, this book shows there is a path to internal and external freedom. it was a great read.

Informed and Comprehensive

Welll-wrtten book. I personally like when the authors narrate, as was the case with these three the contributors. A comprehensive address of dharma in our current cultural atmosphere.

Great topic but...

This was very interesting. I got a sense of the varied experiences of POC navigating their own liberation within dharmic spiritual traditions. I would have liked for the authors to have delved a little deeper thought. I also thought that the performances were very dry and mostly monotone in delivery.
