The job was simple. Always answer the phone—no exceptions—then solve the caller’s catastrophe as efficiently as possible.

The rules were simpler. They contact you, not the other way around. Never give them your real name, number, or any personal information not required to help a newly single dad keep his head above water.

And never, ever get involved with a caller.

Simple, right?

Becker Hayes was not who I was expecting to call during my shift with the Single Dad Hotline. He’s my boss’s boss. In the boardroom he’s rich, powerful, detached. In my calendar he’s the enigmatic one-time kiss I was never supposed to see again. But on the other end of the phone, he’s vulnerable and reeling from becoming guardian to his young nieces.

I’m not thinking straight when I offer him a little help off the books. Not when my mother’s illness is winning the battle and I’d give anything for a distraction from the loneliness.

So when the Single Dad Hotline blows up my life, what’s a girl to do but say yes to everything he’s offering?

This has to be one of the best books I listen to all year. I laughed so hard and then sobbed. The characters were very real and their stories were told with away you rooted for them through the entire book! If you want a good story you can't put down and people looking at you like you are completely nuts , when you laugh out loud, this book is for you

Dang it Daisy! this book kept me laughing

Great story, heartwarming. I loved it from beginning to end. I laughed, smiled, had goosebumps and blushed a few times. I’m adding this author to my favorites list

I could not put this down once I started. Beck and Stella were amazing. This story has everything. Workplace romance, corporate espionage, a spin on the nanny trope, and billionaire unsuspecting single dad.

Beck is a wealthy, single, successful businessman who is totally unprepared when he gains custody of his nieces. Stella is coming off a traumatic breakup, losing her job and struggling to take care of her mom. They share a night of passionate kisses and then Stella finds herself hired at Beck’s company. She also sees another side of him when she gets the call to the Single Dad Hotline.

This story starts out with so much heart and humor and develops into so much more as their pasts come to light. The emotional journey they take as they work through their past traumas and current hang ups is riveting. There's drama brought on by outside forces trying to break up their newly formed family and company. The supporting cast of characters is just as developed and outstanding.

Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais once again solidified why they are one of my absolute favorite duos. Samantha was brilliant as Stella. She gave us her vulnerability when dealing with her past and heartbreak when she's with her mom. Then showed her strength and inner mama bear protecting the girls. I'm not sure there's anything better than Connor as the reluctant, fiercely protective single dad who's not afraid to ask for help and when he loves, he loves hard.
Plus, besides the epilogue, the audio includes a bonus scene that will have you weepy with happy tears.

This was basically more than I expected based on the cover and premise of the book. Like all Avery’s books, it has plenty of heart, humor and characters you root for. However, it’s a beautiful story of the journey of two broken people finding their way to each other through the most trying circumstances and coming out on top. I can’t wait for the next installment.

I really appreciate that Avery Maxwell’s characters learn to communicate as a foundation for their relationships. These two do not know how at first, and they have serious baggage, but they eventually communicate well and start a healthy relationship.

Real communication

Where to start.. this story is my far my favorite. Stella and Becker find each other through Single Dad Hotline. He recieved custody of his nieces. what ensures is comedy, daisy dog, heartbreak and an evil lady. Avery Maxwell had a few twists or turns I didn't see coming.

but let me tell you, the Narrators were 10 stars. Conner Crais and Samantha Brentmoor knocked this story out. they were amazing and perfect for the roles.

I loved this book. Samantha and Connor were perfect for these rolls! I laughed so hard at times. I nearly peed my pants when Beck called Stella to ask about Ruby’s poop habits! LOL it was the best! I was so happy Beck came to his senses quickly after their trist in the sheets. And the mystery about Becks family and his dad’s old business partner was so well thought out. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what went down. This couple hit some bumps but ultimately tackled it all together. It was also nice to have a couple other love stories going on around them. So cute. I highly recommend this story!

So, so good!

Overall it was a good listen. There was parts that I thought the FMC was extremely nieve.
There was one part that involved a baby, a diaper and a dog that had me laughing so hard I crying.

You can't help but fall in love with Becker and Stella, not to mention those adorable little girls! This story is a real emotional rollercoaster. One moment I was laughing, the next I was crying, and then I'd find myself angry and frustrated as I watched Becker struggle with his past, his new reality, and his feelings for Stella, not to mention a sense of betrayal. My heart aches for Stella, too. She's really pushing herself to the brink, working multiple jobs. Then, as things evolve between her and Becker, they both start to open up their hearts again. But there’s always the risk that if Stella gets hurt again, she might completely shut herself off from love.
The narrators added another incredible dimension to the story, and made it an awesome immersive experience!

So much heart in this story!
