Hilarious, hot and seriously refreshing. Dirty Little Midlife Crisis is the book you didn’t know you needed.
Forty-five, recently divorced and a certified hot mess. The last thing Fiona needs to start her vacation is a flooded hotel room and a broken-down car.... Alas, that’s what she gets. She’s ready to pack it all in and go home - wherever that is - when her knight in a wet T-shirt strides in to save the day. Jaw-dropping, panty-melting Grant Greene takes the 'mess' out of 'certified hot mess' when he walks up to Fiona and offers her a room to stay. No strings attached. Great, right? It would be, apart from the sparks that immediately start to fly. Sparks are bad. Sparks are dangerous. Sparks can cause a fire. And for a divorcee trying to start over, a fire is really bad news. But bad decisions can be fun...right? Just as long as you don’t get burned....

Great book!

Unfortunately it felt a little to much like it sits on the Virgin River-YA spectrum of heat and spice. The story seemed to try and avoid showing that people over 40 can have real and exciting sex lives. It doesn't end at 30. It just seemed like it didn't want to offend the reader's sensibilites (like it will offend a reader to know that your mom really does have GOOD sex and talking about it is wrong) .
While I don't need it ....I do love a good slow burn or a "hot and dirty", BUT a fade to grey in this case stunts the potential narrative and plot development.
The male reader was very good but the female reader was pretty stilted and lacked emotive inflection in her parts and I had to try and work with it.
The story is enjoyable and sweet but it felt like there was so much more possible.
Maybe I am jaded but for MC's over 40 to have such limited life views or insecurities about what they wanted seemed a little immature. The missed opportunity was to capture the depth and scope that to older MC's lifes experiences can bring to a narrative.
I will read the next novel in the series to make sure BUT its now down my priority list.
High hopes for a mid life story ....

Second, instead of just having POV from the FMC & MMC there’s input from two other characters. I understand they are trying to introduce those characters for future books, but it felt forced and awkward.
Cute but lacking

Appeared interesting

Too much internal monologue. He asks a question… three pages of her thinking about it, then she answers.
Third act break up almost makes him irredeemable. Even though he begs her on his knees, she still forgives them much too quickly.
Too convenient plot points, she meets someone new. Oh- your system is disorganized.
Really? Fiona’s good at organizing.
Really? Here’s an employment contract for you to sign.
All over the place
