This is the first book of a different era I have listened to. Jodie, you have a way to evoke so much emotion and intensity in your writings. I’m enjoying the audios. I have purchased many. Thank you for allowing my mind and heart to escape. Narrator is Great. A brilliant writer♥️

I couldn’t put it down. Loved it from beginning to end. Loved the chemistry between the main characters.

Perfection

I have listened to many, many books but none of them portrayed the experience of intense longing so well. The rough story is a common enough trope - moody, damaged rake and beautiful, rebellious virgin. The quality of writing and pace of the story gives it originality and depth.
Eliza is trapped in a society with no acceptable path for her intelligence, longing for truth, and frustration with her situation. She is drawn to her mysterious and shunned neighbor, feeling a profound sensual attraction and curiosity about his past. He is moody, handsome, and reluctantly drawn to her, then unable to resist her.
This is my first book by Jodi Ellen Malpas and I am overjoyed at the discovery of such an excellent author with so many more books to read.
The narrator was a terrific interpreter.

Beautifully written

with this being Jodi's first ever period piece, she did a phenomenal job!! I was enthralled with this story. The narration was done sublimely as well. Have always been a fan of Jodi Ellen Malpas and this is yet another reason why. Thank you for bringing us to a new world of Jodi!

One Night With The Duke

Always interesting when reading words from Jodi. Never surprise you with what to come. Johnny and Eliza was amazing and funny.

Too Much Dithering.

The female protagonist is CONSTANTLY thinking how kind and gentle her father is, which is ridiculous, as her father is putting his wealth and his wife social ladder climbing first before his daughter’s wellbeing and feelings. He’s forcing her into an arranged marriage and clearly the only thing that will change the future is the Duke “ruining” Eliza or Eliza “ruining” herself. Yes, there’s a happy ending, but holy geebuz it was painful to get to. Eliza, your father is not a good man.

SKIP!! Bad story, very boring.

I have read books by this author before and the stories really kept my interest but not this one. Perhaps choose another book, this one was dissapointing.
