The Truth in Moving Forward

This book is written in truth & suffering. It reminded me that questioning God doesn’t make me a non believer, it makes me human. There are times we forget there is a bigger picture and things don’t happen on my time.

Makes me want to pray differently

Great book. The story is restorative but for me it was a lesson on how to pray. Listening to Amanda’s journey entries really encourage me to make sore I pray earnestly and strategically. Thank you for sharing.

An absolute must read!

I wouldn’t consider myself to be someone who has gone through much pain in my life, but I have followed Davey and Amanda’s story since Amanda passed. I also had the opportunity to hear Amanda’s mom and sister speak a year later. What I have learned from them is how God prepares us for seasons of pain. Listening to the Nothing is Wasted Podcast and now reading this book has helped me through for trauma and, I believe, preparing for future pain that will inevitably come.

The story of a young pastor finding his beautiful, young, pregnant wife murdered one morning as he returned from the gym. As a counselor, I was captivated from beginning to end. I wanted to hear how on Earth anyone could survive a tragedy of this magnitude. Of course the answer is God’s amazing love and care. Not only is God healing Davey, He is also healing countless others through the growing ministries spawned from this tragedy.Loved hearing him read it himself! What a testament to God’s healing power!

great book …. filled with all the emotions that you could possibly imagine. The authors, words, color, the pages, and when he had his sister-in-law, read the journal I found myself with puddles.

What an incredible story. So much solid biblical theology is poured out in this book. I was in tears and glorifying God the whole way through it. When I finally got to the end, I wanted to start over again. Praise God for his faithfulness and walking with us every step of the way.
