Resumen del Editor

Stephanie Banner is 20 years old the night Dakota Shane stands center stage while six bullets ring out through the stadium. Five deaths occur from those shots, although only four ever go on record.

It happens in Portland, Oregon, at the Rose Garden Arena. The show is a sellout.

For the eight days leading up to the concert, a handful of disparate lives intertwine as their world unravels. Among them the learning-disabled kid from East St. Louis trying to move past having his little sister die in his arms; his quick-witted father-figure who inadvertently finds himself duct-taped to a chair, hostage to a meth-addled lunatic; the son desperately struggling to rise above his abusive father; the slash-punk singer managing to score her band their best gig ever only to learn she may not have a band left to play it; the psychiatrist confronting her wasted life; the ex-LAPD detective now working in Portland finally facing the ghosts still lingering from his past; the bitter ex-wife of a DJ, still secretly listening to her ex's midnight radio show while drinking herself into a whiskey coma; the out of control daughter having unprotected sex with strangers hoping pregnancy might draw her parent's attention.

And Dakota Shane: chart-topping superstar with a dark secret, caught in a media frenzy full of rumour, speculation, and lies, grappling to find any semblance of herself inside an identity forged by an extremely successful record company's marketing department.

Each life is a story and the stories collide like silver balls in a pinball machine.

A tale of passion, bravery, and redemption, The Rose Garden Arena Incident is ultimately about learning how to fix the parts of the world that are fixable and learning to live with the parts that aren't. A heartbreaking story that still leaves you with hope.

A "serial thriller", The Rose Garden Arena Incident takes place over seven separate books.

Slam Dunk.:)

As far as thrillers go, this is gripping stuff. It's not just a who-done-it story, but the nature of the crime itself is not revealed until the end. At first you thought it's about a murder, then the clues point to another unsolved murder, but the truth turns out to be much more complicated.

Great start

Interesting weaving of relationships between characters under the main action of a crime. I will continue with the series as it becomes available and would really love a marathon listen to all the books, one after another.

I am glad the author provided me with a copy so that I could provide an unbiased review... Because now I am hooked. The narrator's performance is right on with timing and inflection adding to my enjoyment of this listen.

Serial Book 1

Very intriguing story. This book seems like it is several stories woven into one. As this is part of a serial book, this is an introduction to the rest of the stories. It will be interesting how the various characters interact and where they go in the story. From this first book I do not have sense of who the shooter is or why, who all of the victims are or why. The narrator did a great job with the imagery of this story. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher.

Completely hooked!

From the very beginning of this narration, you get sucked into story. Is it a whodunnit? Is it a thriller? Drama? This has a little bit of everything. Starting out with 6 bullets being shot into the audience, our large cast of characters is intertwined into this mass of people. We then are taken back 8 days to how our story begins, and the suspense and questions grow. We see into Dakota's life, the back story of Stephanie, Brenda and Karma, meet Reggie and Marshall and this is just a few not even counting the detective and his family. So much is is going on, keeping track of who is who and how they will, fit together, and nothing is even close to being answered, leaving you wanting the next episode!

Eric Bryan Moore gives a sharp, clean suspenseful narration giving yiu a clear picture of all that is going on. So many characters, each with their own voice, his talent shines through and keeps you completely engaged in the story. Can't wait for the next episode.

Excellent Book One in the Rose Garden Arena Series

I'm hooked. This was an awesome listen! What I loved about it the most was that it was noir-ish. All the characters had a commonality; seemingly desperate situations or coping and they were all intertwined. Mosh Pit was a very well-written book by Michael Hiebert with amazing narration.

Eric Bryan Moore's performance was outstanding. His voice was perfect for this story with his spor on inflections and grittiness where needed. This audiobook was a great listen.

It Is A Lot It Less Than 3 Hours

--

1st in a 7 Part Serial Thriller

Mosh Pit opens with Stephanie and Brenda at a concert where 6 shots are fired and one of the women gets hit. As that scene is carried out we are taken:
*To a bar (presumably) earlier in the evening with a group of characters including Stephanie
and Brenda as well as an underage girl named Karma.
*Next we are looking in on a couple of cops with a passenger…with one of the cops being
sewn up by his partner's very pregnant wife.
*Along the way Trinity, Karma's mother, is drinking away the night listening to the midnight
DJ from California that is Karma's father.
*As the book ends we meet Marshall a man on his way to see
his kid.

It has a lot going on, as with most first in series books. I look forward to the following books to lay out a bit more clarity in what and how all of this relates

The narration was good to great by Eric Bryan Moore. This was my first experience with the author and this performer. I look forward to both of them.

I received this book in exchange for my unbiased review. I hope it is helpful to you as a potential reader.

Confusing events

The book was so short that I really didn't get imersed in the story. Maybe book two brings the loose ends together and makes things clearer.

Not Bad for a Start

This book starts out well. Two party girls at a concert. Shots ring out and one bullet hits both of them. One in the head and one in the chest. Then we go back in time to a week before the concert and begin to meet the characters in the story. Some characters in this first book are fleshed out pretty fully and some we just meet before the book ends.

Remember as you listen to this that it is a serial book (you get a few chapters at a time - think Green Mile) and not a series which is multiple full books. Should help you understand why this first in the series is a little choppy and nothing is resolved at its end.

The narration was good by Eric Bryan Moore. His voices, cadence, and tone all do not distract from the story and his narration style has the right inflection. I enjoyed listening to him and would listen to other performances by him.

I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom! in exchange for an honest review.
