A Russian flair

I liked the mixture of Russian culture, mixture of accents, and a bit of danger.

Wonderful & different than the normal!

I loved this story, & the narrator. This sweet lady (I won't ruin it to say who she really is) has been the H*ll & more in her country! She must disappear & wow does it take sheer "I have nothing left to do BUT THIS" to do what she did! She manages to escape thru the love of 1 family member, starved, thin, almost ghostly w/palor, & must work as a governess. This is where the absolutely lovable daughter comes in! oh, what love develops between the 2...& trust! (If only that could happen in today's families.) At any. the man (a widow) she works for is...very interesting. The story is charming, sweet, loving & a few steamy scenes, but not over-much (just enough to make an older woman jealous... most men care nothing about what pleases a woman-they think their "humping" you like a dog is enough! At 60 I can say that w/a lot of experience of the "humping" part how wrong men are!). Men could enjoy lovemaking so much more if BOTH were pleased! We women get tired of being the dog! I cannot wait for the next book! Women, have your husband's listen to the love scenes in these Regency Romance bks! They may learn something! It's too late for me (married 22 years w/sex only for 2 years then prostate problems...& I've stuck by him out of love. Try giving up sex @ age 41! You'd listen to these boods also! Sad smile!). But maybe not you! Educate your hubbies! They truly are clueless! Don't wait til your 60 like me & be a virgin again & just want a nice hug!

This book was all out great. The characters were rich and vivid. The plot was a little predictable, but that's okay; it makes for a light interesting read.

Lisa Kleypas has done it again! I enjoy all of her novels immensely. She has a gift that keeps on giving. Thoroughly enjoyed this novel!

Creepy moments

The story started off so strong for the female lead but the male lead leaves alot to be desired. He's way too into how young she is. He makes comments about her being child like to him. Honestly was just really creeped out during what were supposed to be emotionally touching scenes. The age difference would not be so off putting if it were not for the author going into detail about how obsessed with her youth the male lead is.
