Owning the Stone-Chance Protection Agency has its perks. It’s a profitable company that allows Ramsey and Keilah Stone to enjoy the finer things in life; however, it has also added an element of danger to their otherwise normal lifestyle.

When Keilah was a field agent, she was an excellent marksman, known for being fearless when it came to protecting her clients. Now that she has a baby daughter, she’s lost that competitive edge and longs for a slower life. That might not be possible, though, when the return of a shady ex-lover brings chaos into Keilah’s life.

At home, Ramsey is a warm and caring father and husband, but on the job, he finds it necessary to maintain his tough persona as an ex-military officer. When an unexpected tragedy darkens his doorstep, he finds himself in a cat-and-mouse game with a dangerous assailant. He will be forced to make some very difficult decisions in order to protect his family.

Plots, twists and turns.

Excellent storyline. The narrator did a good job but also needed to take the time to practice pronouncing two of the main characters names. I found myself mentally correcting him most of the time.

Classy and Entertaining

I didn't think I would like to book as much as I did. the story was flowing well the characters were developed. you actually got a feeling for each character. Not only was the story fluid it kept you interested. I like the way the author wrapped everything up so you want left looking for apart to as usual. Stand-alone books are great. this book was exceptional. I like that the characters portrayed African Americans in an extremely positive working class family. Sometimes the ex"s just don't know how to let you go. how much handles it is expected. I like the ending.

I absolutely love the Stones. This was a great follow up to the first story. Would love to hear more about the Chance brothers and what’s happening in California.

Suspense at every turn

So many unexpected actions. I've been a fan of Kimberly Lawson Roby but Mr. Darrien is right smack up with her. He's now a go to for me. Didn't want it to end.

Good Story Line Lots Of Characters to Keep up With

It was a good read. Took a long time to get to the action of it all. The anticipation was a bit much. There were a couple errors where the wrong name was used but overall good story line.

absolutely amazing storyline. listening to the audible book will have you almost in tears because the narrator was amazing as well.

Distracting errors ...

How on earth is a narration approved for publication with the narrator mispronouncing the names of two of the main characters throughout the ENTIRE STORY ... hoooowwwww??!!!

A Great Choice!

The storyline was interesting from beginning to end, and very well read! I would recommend this book. I will seek more from this author and grio as well.
