Great Story

It was a great story and an intriguing paranormal mystery. It was a little slow getting to the juicy bits. But it was worth it.

Romantic and Spooky

I would classify this book as a romantasy, a romance with some elements of fantasy and a bit of time travel, too. Olivia Moreland, who has made a business of exposing phony mediums, has been invited to the country estate of Lord Stephen St. Ledger to help him prove to his mother that Mme. Valenskya is a fraud. Although Olivia can explain the tricks and techniques that are being used during the seances, she has no explanation for the dreams about two 12th Century lovers that she is sharing with Stephen. Spooky and intense, with colorful characters, a sexy romance and an imaginative mystery, I really enjoyed this book. Narrator Will Thorne did a good job switching from one character to another, accent to accent.

It is a dark and scary mystery romance.
Interesting characters, it was fun and entertaining.
The narration was annoying, though.

Read this AFTER “Her Scandalous Pursuit”

This should be the second book in the series. “Her Scandalous Pursuit” details Thisbe’s and Desmond’s story. In “Mesmerized” they are already married and it’s about 7 years later.

Enjoyable.

This had a bit of a penny dreadful tone to it which was a nice change of pace to a lot of the other provincial novels in the Plus Catalogue.

Intriguing!

When Stephen St. Leger hired Olivia Moreland to expose some charlatans that were taking advantage of his grieving mother, he never dreamed of all the mysteries they would uncover! This book is full of intrigue, deception, mystery, and heart-pounding adventure! Narrator Will Thorne does a wonderful job conveying the suspense of the story.
