Whoever told Lox magic was safe, was lying.
The time spent clearing the city of Westia was beneficial for all the immortals, making them stronger. But Lox is restless. Not wanting to settle down in the city they were building for the immortals, he leaves the city behind in search of new magic and wanders out in the Shattered Continent.
Lox soon finds himself in the magical city of Mardis Dane. Floating in the clouds, the city is everything Lox hoped it would be, full of magic and mysteries.
But all is not well, and soon unknown forces will ravage this wondrous city...

Narration is amazing and Cover art is cool. The story is good just wish the villain was not a spoiled rich kid with daddy issues.
Got a whole world of Magic and this is the villain we get sigh.

One of the most fascinating aspects of the book is the floating city, which adds a fresh and imaginative element to the story. The descriptions of this city are vivid and immersive, making it feel like a character in its own right. The combination of this intriguing setting with well-developed characters made the book an enjoyable and memorable read.
Great chapter

He has at least two ways to deal with Ike, USE THEM. Either one learn to use the mindscape and destroy ike's core tree, even as a player it will harm him. Two have the guild master contact his old wetwork contacts and take Ike out back on earth in his pod. Either are valid options, Do SOMETHING!
When is the MC going to actually defend his crew

First right off the bad things that make this book frustrating is this whole entire claim the city arc is taking so long it's taking way too long half a book is long enough and now we start out in the beginning of the third novel still going through it..... Then we immediately get the main character displaying a new shield ability that's extremely powerful and his teammates just complain because he can't dispel it or because it was dangerous to use 🫤 then the main character makes this big speech about him not being a powerhouse because he's a jack of all trades which is a total lie from the previous two books you see the opposite.... Then when the fighting starts Cleopatra basically delegates the MC to a freaking healing... Role... We're talking about the weakest healer here.... And out of all of his abilities that's his absolute weakest they did this in the first book as well they tried pushing this narrative that he needs to be a healer healer healer... When he's got this extremely powerful class it's like she wants to be the spotlight when he's the MC. Then a little while later they come across surprise another random enemy a lava elemental.... That's quite a few levels higher than them... Then they instantly go to the MC and say can you take care of this because of your abilities....😒 You can use your soul amplifier with your abilities main character basically says no I can't do that it's going to be less effective because it's a higher level.
...... Like where is this garbage coming from through the entire series he's been doing this with no issue fighting enemies far stronger than him and now it's an issue it's like the The writer wanted to nerf the main character I don't understand the logic behind that did too many people complain about this I felt like he wasn't strong enough.....
Also I guess the writer just forgot about the fact the main character can turn etheric or has hypnotic eyes.... It's a shame when this happens in a story it's even more aggravating because in the annoying stat sheet sections if you actually listen to the soul abilities that he has it lists them.... Then why hasn't he used them in the last two books 😒
I mean really the MC hasn't gotten any new equipment either but I guess they finally went full explanation mode and rejection of ever giving soul vampire to anyone else because they don't have an assistant AI... somehow keeping the MC from bloodlust.... which it wouldn't even be an issue for regular players 😒 It really sucks I have too many things to complain about in this book and not enough that I like about it
also I've been frustrated that up until this point it's almost entirely the main character who dies... neither of his friends die practically ever And it's even getting to a point where he got stupified in a battle because he got surprised 😭 this is how you run your main character off of a cliff and then collapse that cliff on top of them.... I mean seriously the main character dies twice in the same rade.... when he doesn't even so much a sneeze going through a freaking legendary quest dungeon in the first book
then they get to a magic City and can't even afford decent gear because it's too expensive... apparently a thousand Gold is too much even though they've been raking in gold left and right... also Vanessa suggests they should steal it You blow up two wands and the main character has basically rags.... And it feels like the writer hates his character more than ick
You know that whole rant about not having enough gear well he steals it all at the end of the book... so I guess that fixes everything but the writer has to balance it all out somehow because let's just invent some random injury that the main character has to live with now for no apparent reason it's a shame I really like this series but I think I'm done
..
definitely not as good as the first two books
