Josie, nicknamed the Maneater, is part of an elite group of private investigators who use their beauty, brains, and society's habit of underestimating women to get the intel they need to solve crime and investigate for clients. Her particular strength is in her ability to seduce men and convince them to tell her whatever she wants to hear. She often goes on dates with high-profile men to find out what she needs to know, be it cheating, embezzlement, or the sharing of trade secrets.
Now she's assigned to go undercover as a vacationer at the Daydream Resort, a luxury all-inclusive vacation spot for the rich and famous, and find out who is sabotaging it.
While there, Rowan, a nuisance from her past and the VP of Operations for the resort, keeps getting in her way, but she's not backing down. He continues to find her at the source of the sabotages he's also looking into, and knows that somehow, she's not just a vacationer.
As the sabotage continues, the tension between Rowan and Josie becomes increasingly palpable, but both are there on a mission and can't afford the distraction.
But be it love or disaster, neither of them is ready for what’s coming next.

Josie and Rowan are an absolutely perfect match. Their chemistry feels effortless, like two people who were never meant to fight it but did anyway, just to make the fall even better. From their witty banter to the quiet, vulnerable moments, their story pulled me in completely.
Josie is confident, bold, and unapologetically herself. What made her stand out was how Rowan never tried to dim her light. Instead, he met her exactly where she was, matching her fire with quiet understanding. Their connection felt real, full of teasing and tension but also warmth and genuine care. It is that kind of love that sneaks up on you when you least expect it.
Morgan Elizabeth does such a wonderful job capturing small-town charm and community. The setting feels cozy and alive, the side characters add depth and humor, and the story flows with a perfect balance of romance and heart. There were scenes that made me laugh, moments that made me pause, and a few that made me want to go back and reread just to feel them again.
The audiobook narration by Amy Hall and Christian Fox was incredible. Their performances brought Josie and Rowan to life in a way that made every emotion hit even harder. The chemistry between the narrators mirrored the story perfectly, adding a layer of warmth and tension that made the experience even better.
Maneater was full of humor, love, and growth. It reminded me that love can be both strong and soft, that it can challenge you while still feeling like home. Josie and Rowan’s story was messy in all the right ways, and by the end, I couldn’t help but smile.
