Good, waiting for it to be great

I liked this book in the beginning, but then it started to fall apart for me. I’m not sure how I feel about Nick constantly referring to Shae and her daughters as “his” and him having conversations with Shae’s daughters that I think she should have been present for. Lastly I feel like there was all this build up for little to no pay off. It’s a quick holiday romance but not super deep/complex.

Spicy Christmas romance

I absolutely loved this story! Highly recommend reading this the season for revenge first as this stories FMC is a side character from that book! So glad Shae and the girls got what they deserved!

All the BNE You need!

Nick is the man that every single mom needs in their life. I was cracking up on the first page and then went through a torrent of emotions. Nick was kind, genuine, funny, caring, so damn protective, and phew, that mouth! This was such a fun, sweet, emotional, feel-good story that was perfect for the holiday season. My only complaint was that it wasn't longer.

Mouthy and unbalanced

I probably should have guessed that a series with ‘revenge’ in its moniker and an installment titled
Big Nick Energy would be mouthy. However, I was not expecting 8 F bombs in the first 4 minute chapter, nor the 269 F bombs (according to the Kindle word search) or A, Sh, GD, and JCs peppered throughout.

Then there’s the gentleman on the streets / dirty dom in the sheets parts, with ropes and begging for rough play that seemed very at odds with Shae as a recently divorced abuse survivor whose ex controlled every aspect of her life. Don’t get me wrong: the kink was spicy. It just felt like both Nick and Shae were completely different people in and out of bed.

The biggest problem I had with the story was the imbalance between Shae and Nick. All the baggage, angst and dysfunction was on Shae’s side, and we hear way too much about her sucky past, awful ex, and current struggles with single parenthood. On the other hand, Nick is perfect: he’s kind, endlessly patient, and adoring and respectful from the moment they meet. Frankly, I’m not sure what Shae brought to the table except sex and her daughters.

I wish there’d been humor to balance out all the single mama drama, but there were only light hearted parts and no laugh out loud parts. For me, this was a sweet story with a decent amount of Christmas to keep this mostly in pretty good territory.

Hot and Adorable

A wonderful hallmark feeling book with very HOT spicy scenes. Very heartwarming and very distracting to listen to while driving.

Its a beautiful story with steam

Beautiful story that gives all the love and bravery and steam . And the guy she falls in love with is a great man in the story .

Ok, I really loved this one. Maybe because I am a single mom with two kids and a shitty ex. I related to so many things. Shae's story gave me hope that it's possible. Being a single parent is a struggle and I found that her struggles were pretty realistic. I hope someday I can find a partner who can love my kids and share our lives. I loved their relationship. I loved how Nick wasn't there to play any games and reassured Shae at every turn. Decision fatigue is so real. Overthinking about making right choices for you and your kids is so real. Honestly, I don't even remember much spice and that didn't matter.

I loved this one for what it meant to me. Nick is stable. He shows up without ever needing to be asked. That's the hottest thing a man can do.

Really sweet story

It was a really sweet Christmas story and the characters were all lovable. There were a few things that seemed a little rushed and unbelievable with the pace of the relationship, but that doesn’t kill the overlap story. I would and have recommended to friends.

Great storyline

Well written, easy listen. Sweet characters that you can take an interest in with a fun holiday theme.

Fun and Spicy Christmas Read

Total Hallmark formula- single mom with previously abusive husband. Actually matches online with Nick’s son, and quickly they realized they weren’t right for each other but his son invited her to Thanksgiving because he wants to set his dad up.

After a fail of sharing about the Elf that wasn’t a tradition in Shay’s home, he fixes his mistake by bringing an elf to the kids and taking it upon himself to move them every night. Shay is hesitant to any love but Nick keeps pushing because he knows it’s right.

Super cute with some surprising spicy chapters
