Fake Fiancés, Real Heat, and a Dash of Suspense!

Lie With Me brings us back to the Angels of Désirer series, this time following Tripp, Jackson’s best friend, and Valentina (Lenni), Ginny’s best friend. Tripp called off his engagement a year ago, while Lenni has fought hard to build a life after a deeply traumatic past. She works at Désirer as an Angel and carries the heavy responsibility of supporting her mother’s care, even as her mom continues to cause her pain.

Their worlds collide one night when Tripp spills coffee on Lenni and insists on buying her a new dress. That shopping trip leads to a chance encounter with his ex, and Lenni boldly steps in, claiming to be his fiancée. After an unforgettable (and very steamy) night together, she sneaks out before he wakes. Weeks later, Tripp needs her again to keep up the fake engagement story but when they reconnect at their best friends’ engagement party, they’re both shocked to discover they’ve been using fake names and already know one another.

From there, they agree to play along with their pretend relationship, but it quickly becomes clear that the chemistry between them is very real. The spice level is off the charts, their physical connection is undeniable from the start and it fuels a romance full of tension, vulnerability, and healing. Tripp falls first, determined to prove he’s all in, while Lenni struggles to lower her walls and trust. Their story balances emotional depth with sizzling heat, making it impossible to put down.

The audiobook narration is beautifully done. Shiloh James captures every layer of Lenni… her sass, her toughness, and the cracks in her armor. Caden Hart’s performance as Tripp is equally compelling, full of warmth and sincerity that make his devotion shine. Together, they bring this story to life with both raw emotion and fiery chemistry, making this a standout listen.

These two are so funny, Especially Lenni, her interactions with Tripp's mum had me laughing out loudy.
Its also a Hot and Steamy Listen.

Throughly enjoyed it. Both narrators are new to me and I have no hesitation in listening to anything they narrate

From the meet cute to the ending, I was so absorbed into Lenni & Tripp’s story.

This is definitely a VERY emotional read especially with Lenni’s past, but it is also HELLA SPICY. Tripp was SOO down bad for Lenni. 🤤

The audiobook was fantastic! Caden Hart & Shiloh James were an amazing duo and brought this story to life. Shiloh James did a great job portraying all the emotions Lenni went through throughout the story.

Pretty Woman Vibes 🩷

I devoured this audiobook.

It was funny, charming, and with the perfect amount of angst and suspense. I loved everything about this book, and all the references to Pretty Woman… chef’s kiss. Narrators Shiloh James and Caden Hart were both great and entertaining.

Emotional, beautiful, absolutely phenomenal!

D.L. Darby knows how to write an emotionally charged but extremely sensual story, and the way Shiloh James and Caden Hart narrated this story and brought Lenni and Tripp to life will steal your breath. They were absolutely phenomenal. This audiobook quickly became one of my favorites.

Lenni's childhood was traumatizing but provides important information to help the reader understand how she got to where she is with her emotional and physical mindset. Your heart will absolutely break for all she went through, but cheer for the woman she is now and all she endured and overcame to get there.

When they end up at a wedding of mutual friends, Tripp proposes a fake engagement to get his family off his back, but fake slowly becomes real and they are faced with individual and combined challenges.

The way Tripp fell for this woman and loved her healed my heart for her and all she had been through. The character and plot development was fantastic and so on par with what I've come to expect from D.L. Darby. The Pretty Woman vibes were perfect for this couple and their relationship. Lenni needed Tripp and all he gave to her to heal the parts of her that were broken. Tripp and Lenni prove that the love and support of the right person at the right time makes for a beautiful and healing relationship and HEA. Their passion, chemistry, and spicy time was off the charts and I ate it up like I was starved.

The plot twist...wow! The ending...wow! An amazing audiobook that I can listen to over and over and enjoy it like it's the first time, every time.

Lenni and Tripp

This is the second book in the Angels of Desirer series that follows Lenni and Tripp. I listened to the audiobook for this one and I enjoyed their narration. This book was also really good. I loved Lenni and how she had to overcome everything that happened in her childhood. Tripp was a nice MMC but I was not a fan of his mom. I did enjoy seeing the characters from the first book pop back up in this one.

♡D.L. Darby did it again! Five mother freaking stars & I devoured this book in one sitting because I physically couldn't stop listening! I laughed, I cried, & I swooned over this amazing story. Tripp & Lenni are the definition of couple goals! There is nothing that will stand in the way of them being there for one another as they work their way through Lenni's tragic past to their future. The grace Tripp gives to Lenni by allowing her to open up to him on her own time had me a blubbering mess & Lenni deserves the world.

The duet narration for this audiobook was jaw-dropping! Shiloh did a phenomenal job bringing Lenni our strong, caring, & independent FMC to life. Caden did an excellent job bringing Tripp our sweet, caring, patient MMC who wears his heart on his sleeve to life. The emotions Shiloh & Caden brought out in this performance gave me chills. This performance made you feel the emotions the characters were feeling right along with them!

I really enjoyed the way characters from book 1 continued their story into book 2 and I'm so excited to listen to the next one after that ending!♡

LOVED!

I absolutely LOVED this one! I loved the characters, their depth, and their growth. I loved the emotion, the trauma, the drama, and the banter. I loved it all. Everything about Lie With Me was amazing! It was heartbreaking, but an amazing story.

The trauma the Lenni went through. Omg. I felt for her. It was truly so heartbreaking. I felt for little Valentina who was stuck in an unimaginable situation. I teared up so many times. And at one point, I was balling my eyes out. But despite it all, Lenni is such a strong, fierce FMC. She has been through so much, but still works hard to do the right thing and prove that she’s a strong, independent woman. She did what she could to survive. I loved her and her character growth so much. Seriously, I just loved her.

I also adored Tripp. He was the kindest, sweetest MMC. Did he make mistakes? Definitely! (I mean, he’s a man! 😂) But he owned up to them. He became better. He was such a good man. I loved how he treated Lenni. I loved how much he wanted to be with her and to prove to her that they could make it work. And the mouth on him…. Holy moly. I am here for everything he said! Yessss. He is goals!

The audio was incredible! I was hooked immediately. Shiloh James and Caden Hart were PERFECT as Lenni and Tripp. Shiloh handled Lenni’s trauma and strength perfectly and with grace. And Caden had Tripp’s fun and flirty personality down. Not to mention his dirty talk was so hot.

This is the 2nd book I’ve read by DL Darby and let me tell you, she is an amazing writer. She does a fantastic job getting you emotionally invested in the characters, their story and growth, and their world. I cannot wait to read more by her!

Hallmark meets Petty Woman

The second book in the Angels of Dèsirer series can be read as a standalone but was better having read the first book. Lots of character cross over. Loved all the Pretty Woman references especially the piano scene. I loved Viv character and how even after all she has endured in life she pushed herself to be better and to take care of herself. I loved LOVED Tripp he didn’t portray all these characteristics from the previous book and we really get to see all his layers here and with Lenni he is so gone for her that his possessive and jealousy really show. He was also a big ‘ol cinnamon roll. The sexual chemistry and the connection these two have, almost from the beginning, is something else. I love the positive message about how communication is portrayed with regards to relationship and exploring one’s desires or k1nks without shame! I really loved the ending and how Lenni finally gets her closure. 4.5 stars for these two and looking forward to the next book with Bosslady!

This is a reread for me but I HAD to listen to the audio. Preformed in duet by Caden Hart and Shiloh James. They both did a great job of capturing the layers of Lenni and Tripp and bringing the chemistry and emotions to life and Caden voice *swoon*

Listen Too It!!!!!!!

So I have been wanting to read a D.L Darby book for so long now and I was so happy that I got this audiobook. I could not take my earbuds out when listening to this today therefore I finished it in one sitting. I thought you did an amazing thing with the story of Tripp & Lenni and their relationship is just a chef’s kiss. From Lenni’s past to finally opening up to Tripp and their future together. Ever since I heard Caden Hart in Kage, I have been following him on all audiobooks and have tried to get as many as possible. I absolutely love the way her portrays all of his MMC’s her narrates and her is getting into my top 10 favs. And Shiloh, I don’t know how much more praise I can give you in this review that wasn’t said in my last review with you in it. You have been amazing in everything I’ve listened to you in and this was no different. Both you and Caden brought so much emotion to these characters that made me feel like that were real and not fictional.
