John Kotter, the world's foremost expert on business leadership, distills twenty-five years of experience into Leading Change. A must-have for any organization, this visionary and very personal audiobook is at once inspiring, clear-headed, and filled with important implications for the future.

The pressures on organizations to change will only increase over the next decades. Yet the methods managers have used to strengthen their companies—total quality management, reengineering, right sizing, restructuring, cultural change, and turnarounds—routinely fall short. In Leading Change, Kotter identifies an eight-step process that every company must go through to achieve its goal, and shows where and how people—good people—often derail. Emphasizing again and again the critical need for leadership to make change happen, Leading Change provides unprecedented access to our generation's business master and a positive role model for leaders to emulate.

Expanded my view of consulting application in the domain of change management. A very good read. too long or too short.

Practical advice. Inspirational.

I am reading this book as part of a management course along with several others. There are some good principles laid out throughout the book but it’s also full of a lot of fluff. You probably could have gotten the same amount of information across in much less time.

Okay book

Very helpful in my new management analyst position. Provides great examples of what to do and what not to do. Helped me recognize many issues in all of the jobs I have e held.

This book provides an enriched sense of how change and transformations proceed and the points where it can derail. The last two thirds of the book is the best, imho

Transformative!

Flatter organizations and less middle management is good for change, but I was hoping for more about impacting change as a middle manager.

Good Top Down Perspective

This book had everything that I was looking for and practical ways of understanding change. It's a must read for any leader who is transforming himself or organization through an accelerated change method.

This needs to be read. I wish I had before taking the effort to implement change in a previous company. Steps 1 & 2 were not satisfied and all efforts by the few involved floundered when they met opposing, complacent forces.

Profound
